What food should I eat when I go to Chicago?

I'm looking for food that's fairly unique to Chicago, what restaurants do I go to? I know Chicago is know for their hot dogs and deep dish pizzas, which places are most well known for these?

You have to try Gino's East too. I tried both Gino's and Malnati's when I went to Chicago back in July and both were great but I liked Gino's better.

Make sure to plan for food ahead of time - nothing like getting there and just realizing you're in the completely wrong area 😛

You have to check out the wiener circle in lincoln park near clark and wrightwood. Make sure you go in the evening for the entertainment 😉

Al's italian beef. You can't get a good italian beef anywhere else.

I like Lou Malnati's for deep dish pizza.

You can drink the water, but don't eat the food.

Harry Careys for the Chicken Vesuvio

Burger at the Billy Goat tavern

Brazilian BBQ at Fogo de Chao

Burger or ribs at the Weber Grill - their mashed potatoes are amazing!

Only been to Chicago 3x in my life!

Giordano's for deep dish pizza. Some of the best breakfast food is found at one of three Nookie's (Nookie's, Nookie's Too and Nookie's Tree). The Giordano's and Nookie's Tree can be located in the Lakeview neighborhood close by Wrigley Field (Giordano's is about three blocks east of Halsted on Belmont) and Nookie's Tree is on Halsted about two blocks north of Belmont). For dessert, nothing beats Marie's. Margie's serves up to 25 scoop sundaes and has been run by the same family for 50 years (located in Wicker Park neighborhood---forgot what street). I lived in downtown Chicago for two years, trust me on this.

wow, NO ONE said Ginos East for Pizza?

forget the chains like Uno's (shoot you can find them anywhere) Gino's East is not a chain and their pizza is great.

I just ate a Fogo last week, if you like red meat its the place to go. I make it a point to go whenever I'm in town for the night. Make sure you bring your appetite.
