- I can't shitpost on reddit because of this AWS garbage, 'boutta riot
There's always lemmy. That's the thing with federated services. They act the way the internet was designed to act. Resources are distributed, and damage gets routed around. While it may not be 100%, you still have something.

Also, a single fuckwit, or group of fuckwits can't ruin everyone's else's gig.

Ugh.. tried to eat a pistachio, shell and all.

That was awkward. Tastes not good.

Forgot you have to take the shells off first.

I remember a kid at camp that used to eat peanuts, shell and all. We'd be like "WTF man?" but he liked it. We were feeding chipmunks and squirrels and I'm like "even THEY don't eat the shell!".

I watched some AI tracking hand gimbal video and now I want one even though I have no use for it.

Imagine needing internet for your bed to work. Why can't they make these things work local only. Plugs in to an ethernet jack, has a web interface, done. No cloud or apps or any of that BS.

Not sure if this is FWP or serendipity, but I had to do some grade sheets for work tonight. I got them done, and emailed them off. Something popped into my head, and I opened them up to take a look, and noticed one the grades looked weird. I had screwed it up, so I corrected it, and sent off a revised grade sheet.

First problem is I don't like making mistakes, and having to send a correction, but it isn't wrong til it's built. Second problem is I can't remember why I opened them in the first place. I got sidetracked by the weird grade :^/

Whats a grade sheet? Are you a teacher?

I require answers to my questions. Thx
It's actually a cutsheet. I was trying to avoid jargon most wouldn't know. You stakeout a construction feature, in this case a walking trail, then put an elevation on your stakes. You put that on a cutsheet with the proposed elevation, and give the difference between them.

eg, you have a top stake elevation of 322.43. Proposed elevation is 322.12. That gives you a cut of 0.31to finish grade. If the numbers were reversed, it would be called a fill.

AI is making the production of fake photos far too easy. Comet Lemmon pics have f'in' wind-affected con trails. Comet pics from Monument Valley feature rock formations that don't exist.

-Why hike all the way out to the middle of nowhere to take a picture of a lifetime when you can generate something kinda the same from the comfort of your living room and your social media feed probably won't know the difference?

Looking at the bright side of life, maybe all the beautiful places on Earth won't be crowded as fuck anymore as all the low effort instagram travelers will just use AI instead and save themselves the trip!
