I got a Tim Horton's coffee and didn't get a Roll Up The Rim cup. I guess it's already over? I has a sad.

I'm glad they actually brought that back though. It was dead to me when they made it app only.

Maybe that store ran out of stock? Says the contest goes through the 23rd on their site.

Yeah I suspect they just ran out early at that location. The ending tends to vary a lot per location, and also per drink size. Often at some locations they will still have cups a week or more after the end date.

Stopped to get some Aspen fuel today, and the woman behind the counter talked my ear off. Left the boss waiting in the truck :^D She was kind of doing everything there while the mechanic was on paternity leave(she's a mechanic also), and I think she was just happy to have someone to talk to. Not a lot of walk in business there. They sell sheds, and small construction machines.

Honestly, it wasn't a huge problem, but I felt kinda bad leaving the boss in the truck. I'm not super chatty, but I'm good at listening, and bad at cutting things short, so I make a good captive sounding board for people. Might get some treework out of it. She said she'd keep me in mind if anybody needed anything done.

I'm the exact same.

This is actually something that happened to me:

I open the door of my flat to go out. I see a woman standing outside the next flat, speaking to the couple there. I press the elevator button. It takes some time to come up. I enter when the elevator door opens and just when the door is closing, she comes inside. She seems exasperated. I generally don't talk to strangers. Keep to myself. But this woman starts talking to me. Expressing her anger about how the couple refused to show her a business license for the home salon they are running because she wants to be sure that it's a legal business. I endure about a minute of her talk and then the door opens. I'm expecting I can go on my way now but no, she stands right in front of me, in the middle of the building's corridor, almost blocking my way and continues venting off. After about 4 or 5 minutes of nodding and telling her to report them to the authorities or whatever, I finally can't take it anymore coz it seems she can go on and on forever. I tell her, you should complain to the relevant authority (chamber of commerce or whatever) and walk off towards the exit. Thank God, never saw her again. I shudder to think what if she worked in my office or lived in my building...

(I'm describing her as a woman but she could've been a girl under 30. I just wasn't in the mood to talk to a female right at that moment so didn't pay much attention. My only thought was, please shut up and let me go).

Bought a 2025 Topps Series 1 hanger box today and ended up not pulling a James Wood auto. Pulled an auto of some loser named Robbie Ray. :(

I've been racing the heat gathering firewood. I always do that. I slack in the winter, then it's a rush before it gets hot. I'm currently splitting some black oak. It was standing dead when I felled it a year or two ago, but it's laying in a wet area. It's soaking ass wet, and ZOMG heavy. I've been getting a bit every day after work, but it's so much work to deal with, and so heavy in the truck, I haven't been able to get a lot at one time. It's also filthy, and I spend more time filing my chain than I do cutting. The saw I keep at work is also underpowered for the job, but I don't feel like shuttling my bigger saws back and forth to work.

I learned all about cutting Lexan and the fun molten plastic spray it generates. I tried using a box cutter and snapping it, but couldn't get it to work.

Smells wonderful too :p

Did you use your fume hood? Cutting/grinding plastic is nasty.
Heh, nah, but I used a mask and gloves. It's for the lighting assembly for the fume hood. I wasn't sure I was going to make one, so I built the hood without it. I paid for the decision today. Oh well, it's still fun. Just waiting on the silicone to dry before I hoist it up there.

I'm sure you've thought about getting a power splitter. If you haven't checked prices in a while, it might be worth a look. You're still looking at $400 minimum for an electric but it sounds like something to at least put on the "maybe" list. Just my perspective.

When I moved here, a backyard neighbor wanted about a dozen ash trees removed since they were dead or dying and too close to his house.

I just had the arborist cut them close to the ground and did the clean up myself. Once got them down to logs, I started spitting. I don't remember how much a cord of wood is but I vaguely remember it being about 6 cord. If that sounds ridiculous, just ignore me.

It's a good work out with an 8lb splitting axe - maybe too good since you really tend to develop whatever your dominant side is.
