Outlook and really all of Office 2000 was peak performance, after that it started to go downhill. Now I find you always have to hunt for stuff, while before it was just all at your finger tips.

One of the UX things of Outlook that really pisses me off though is that CTRL+F is not Find, but instead, Reply All. So say you have an email open for reading and want to find something in it, normal instinct in any other application would be to hit CTRL+F and start typing the keyword, but in Outlook that will compose an email reply to the entire company with the keyword in the body. I have seen instances where enter actually sends the email instead of doing a new line probably depending what part of the window is "active", so this could potentially send that email out faster than you even realized what happened. Thankfully it's never happen to me, but it's come close.

I ordered something from a small retailer. I think they are having trouble with their payment system. So far, I'm ahead about fifty bucks and the item has shipped. I think I should order more stuff from them. 😛

I'll give it a couple days to settle down and if they haven't fixed the credits, I'll let them know.

Living on a generator for power right now. Not sure when the power will go back on so I just hand washed some dishes instead of letting them sit in the dishwasher. FML!!!!!!

Screwed up my steel cut oats this morning. I used 0.5C oats to 1C water. Should've been 1.5C water. The oats were tougher than I'd like. My correct recipe already cuts back on the water. I like the oats to have some body when they're done. Been making a lot of rice lately, and confused the ratio with that.

Decided to flip the mattress since it hadn't been done in way too long. Grabbed a bottle of Febreeze to spray it down before the pads and sheets.

Top separated and dumped a bunch on the wood floor.

Got most of it with a towel. Stuff evaporates pretty quick, so it should be OK.

here is a life hack, just snort Fabreeze. Everything will smell fresh then.

I like a soft mattress but the wife likes a hard like stone mattress.. she talked me into it.. took me a year to get used to it.. but it comes with specific instructions.. DO NOT FLIP.. instead rotate sideways.

You rotate one year, flip the next, rotate again, then flip again.

Some do it every six months. This puppy is too big for me to do that anymore, so about once a year is it.

I found out after I had washed and dried the dinner dishes that I did not hook up the garbage disposal to the generator. OOPS!!
Going to run the dishwasher tonight after dinner.

I bought my son in law a brisket from Franklin's BBQ. It was scheduled for Tuesday but they changed the delivery date to Thursday without telling me. I had to check out where the order was to find out. They shipped out the brisket on Wednesday and it is still sitting in a UPS warehouse in Austin with no scheduled delivery date.

Maybe weather related.

Couldn't get a game I bought on Steam ages-and-ages ago to work - because it has DRM that has "rotted", with the installation requiring authorisation from a server that has long since ceased to exist. Couldn't get the workaround (that involved risking downloading some possibly dodgy files to replace those in the Steam installation) to work. Gave up and bought it again on disk second-hand from Ebay. Then immediately after doing that tried the workaround again and it worked (so have paid for a second copy that I now don't need).
God, I hate DRM crap.

My FWP is that I built a high end desktop this past summer, and while part of it was for video editing and some photo editing, I also splurged on a 4080 Super Ti for gaming. I bought some great singleplayer games but have barely played any, because all I play are multiplayer online shooters like Apex Legends. I just love shooters baby.

So yeah, I spent all that money and don't play games to use the hardware. First world problem.

Well, apparently they are not great enough if you can't be bothered to even start playing them 🙂
Make games great again?

It's just me I end up always going to a multiplayer shooter. I just have to use more willpower and get into one. I have the newest Alan Wake, I just got stalker, And I forget one more I got last year.

Yeah, my gaming computers are super underused. Kind of a waste, tbh.

There's just far too many other things that need doing. Plus, somehow, the sheer number of unplayed games I now have, and the sheer scope/scale of many of them puts me off even starting any of them, for some reason. It's a weird thing, that. I get tired even thinking about them.

The magic of gaming is just gone for me. Maybe because I know how the sausage is made now or maybe because it feels like we're just getting the same content over and over again. Gaming just feels like a waste of time now rather than a diversion.

The only games I could consider "played" Is HL, and the dumb little game MagicVines that came with a flashdrive I think. A few have been started, most never opened.
