This is a fwp & rwfp. Got my licorice earlier this week. I ordered 1 bag of a type of candy, and 4 bags each of my two favorites as well as some other stuff. They sent me 5 bags of the one I ordered, and zero bags of my favorites. I contacted the seller, and they refunded the price of candy I didn't get. So I got four free bags of candy, but didn't get the candy I really wanted. To get the candy I want, I'd have to order another $100 is candy to get free shipping, and that's probably necessary coming from Finland, or it would cost too much.

I think my pneumonia is coming back. Coughing the same way I was when it first started, and starting to feel a bit feverish. I hate that we're in that limbo period between Christmas and New Year's, then throw a weekend in the mix. I have no clue what's open and what's not, and probably hard to get to see a doctor if I need to. If I can catch this early I rather just go through my family doctor than emergency. Just need another round of antibiotics.

Did some laundry earlier, found the laundry room hot and humid after having the dryer on for 30 minutes.

Found a nice inch diameter hole in the vent hose near the wall. Had to pull the dryer out, cut the hose to get rid of the hole and reattach.

Much better now.

Reminds me of the time in our first house I painted the wood part of our house. Got 3 five gallon cans of paint. When I was on the second five gallon can I noticed it was a different shade. Went back to Home Depot and told them there was a problem. They said the previous guy grabbed the wrong base so the color was off. The grabbed the right bass and remixed it. "Sorry about that". Great, now who is going to repaint the part of my house that was painted wrong due to their error?

The house stayed two toned until we sold it.

Brand new RGB backlit keyboard. Typing alone fine, making my usual typos and things went goofy. Somehow (I don't know how), the a,s,d and w got reversed with the left, down, right and up arrow keys.

No, it didn't make my typing better.

Probably crossed a couple of keys I guess, but couldn't figure out how to reverse the reversal.

Unplug, re-plug (power boot) the KB.

Presto. Unchange-o.

Why the frickin' hell would a technology enthusiast want to follow these three people???

I can understand Elonusk being there thanks to his inflated ego but did those two PAY him to be there???

There's rumours going around that we might lose 12 hour shifts and night shift. I sure hope not since that would suck. I really got used to having lot of time off, I would hate having to go back to only 2 day weekends. Would also put a huge roadblock in getting work done on my off grid property.

But in a way I don't blame them for doing it, it's been so quiet so we're practically here for nothing off hours, and it seems to be the trend everywhere now to get rid of 24h coverage, even the mine recently got rid of night shift and all stores close at like 9 now, even the pharmacy that used to be 24h. So I think it's going to happen. One person is due to retire, and once he's gone it will not be possible to do 12h shifts or 24h coverage anymore as there won't be enough people to make the schedule work.

I think this year I need to start seriously thinking about a secondary source of income, that I can maybe turn into a primary source of income, so that I can jump ship if things get too bad. I just feel lot of bad changes coming this year.

The frozen lasagna I had for dinner, wasn't hot enough after the first round through the microwave. Had to go back and poke the microwave buttons again, then it was too hot and had to wait to eat it.

I haven't gone out on New Years in at least six years as I'm just too old for that now unless I was with someone really - but this time it's a house party with good peeps I know and ride with that control the guest list well, so I'm ready to stretch my legs.. The first-world problem is it just started pouring and I was going to Citibike there, but now I'll have to pay for an Uber :confused_old:

Even worse my dog hates the rain when he's indoors. So I just loaded him up with one gabapentin and 125mg of trazadone and keeping him company until it kicks in.

Lasagna is a pain to reheat. It's going to be sounding like WW2 inside the microwave and you pull it out and it's still cold!

JFC… lasagna reheat in a microwave is simple:

USE THE DEFROST SETTING

Slower & lower will get your gluten-bomb bricks warm to the core.

You’re welcome, Micro noobs.

I have been thinking about buying a Metabo compound miter saw on Amazon, on sale 40% off @ around $100. Today it is back to the normal price of $139.99. And I have a $50 gift certificate I could have used :(

Maybe it's an indication you didn't want it bad enough. Bummer if you suddenly need it though.

The water fountain I got the cats had an unintended side effect; Their poops are stinkier now. There's more moisture content, so they're more... aromatic... The girl does a good job of covering hers, so it's gone soon enough. The boy just leaves his sitting on top of the litter, and the girl has to cover it when she gets to it, so the scent lingers :^S

In the end, I guess it means I have healthier, better hydrated kittiots, but my nose is suffering for it :^P

I suppose so. I don't really need it. They are really handy for square cuts as well as miter joints. But honestly I don't do that much woodworking. I spent enough on Christmas so just as well.

Took the car in for service and they said it needs back tires. My wife and daughter are taking the car up to Northern CA where it has been raining a lot, so figured I better get tires before their trip. If I buy through Costco the timing would be tight so looked at America's tire. Cool they have them in stock at my local store. Buy them yesterday and make an appointment for today at 8:30. Get there with my kindle and phone and wait. A little before 11:00 they say "Sorry Hank, the tires are not here yet. When you come back we will make sure to get you right in." When they pulled the car out the only words I could form were "I am not going to lie to you, this fucking sucks."

I stupid enough that if there is a way to do it wrong I will, but I clearly remember the order saying "Would you like to make an appointment to install the tires?" so it must be a system problem. Also if the tires were not in then they should not have been able to check me in.

The silver lining out of this is that I will always buy tires from Costco from here on in.

This morning my wife and were discussing giant ocean swells after reading about the Santa Cruz Wharf getting nailed. I mentioned the early attempts at stabilizing ships including the design where the interior swung freely from the hull.

This showed up in my facebook feed this afternoon. We were carrying our phones during the conservation but neither of us has the facebook app.
