I got my cats a nice cat tower from aldi today. It's pretty elaborate for $25. They of course are ignoring it. My girl was on the table eyeing it up, and I hit the dangling ball to show her how fun it was. She then proceeded to ignore it and knock a key off the table. Probably as 'fuck you' to me.

I think cats developed cuteness as a self defense mechanism. There would probably be no such thing as cats if they had to solely rely on their personalities :^D

I fixed the cat tower, and the kittiots like it now. I seeded it with catnip to get them interested, so they would get on it and see how cool it is. It appears to satisfy their standards...

People who complain about not being able to reach me after making exactly zero attempts to reach me piss me off. I keep a detailed phone log and every work email is archived. If I was blowing off someone, I'd know about it. One guy, "I've been trying for weeks!" Phone log shows one attempt. It also shows I returned call and his voice mailbox wasn't set up. This morning, guy says he's been trying to reach me since September. Nothing at all in the phone log, no emails. Conducting a séance in your living room over a pile of rocks and a picture of your cat doesn't constitute "trying to reach me."
 
Mr Moobs could probably cause some damage with a running jump, but he's not big on running or jumping. He's just big :^D Turd Nugget's much more graceful. Every platform has two supports. It would probably hold me if I carefully stood on it.. If I rocked around, it would probably pull the threaded studs out.
 
The guy delivering my MDF and lumber "didn't want to do deliveries today", so I'll get it on Thursday when it will be raining. Hopefully they put it on the porch under the roof.
 
Staying at air BNB right next to the slopes. But because of that now I am 50 min into a traffic jam. Yesterday it was a 6 min drive.
 
This morning my wife and were discussing giant ocean swells after reading about the Santa Cruz Wharf getting nailed. I mentioned the early attempts at stabilizing ships including the design where the interior swung freely from the hull.

This showed up in my facebook feed this afternoon. We were carrying our phones during the conservation but neither of us has the facebook app.

I like when people argue "if phones spied on you the battery wouldn't last". Me with my CalyxOS phone, rolling my eyes as I look at my 70% charge and I haven't plugged it in for like 3 days.

You deal with a lot of inconvenience for your phone privacy and any products that require a proprietary app to work.

What are you hiding? Can you tell us the amount of kiddie porn you have on those servers of yours? I mean we can tell you of it's worth all the safeguards.
 
Started yesterday...oldest grandson and his girlfriend decided to take Amtrak up from California. Uber to our house would have been almost $250 plus tip...so, Grandma decided I was going to pick them up at the station in Olympia. Train was 6.5 hours late...I finally got home about 0230...my dog went batshit crazy because there was strange people in the house...I didn't get to sleep until after 0400...dog got me up just before 0900 to pee. It's been a LOOOOONG day. Grandson and GF from CA, middle granddaughter who lives north of Seattle, and youngest grandson and his wife who live here. House has been crowded and BUSY all fckn day. (grandkids don't see each other too regularly because of distance)
I'll be glad when the holiday is over..

I still find it more likely that that's a weird coincidence. Or that maybe you looked at something on-line that related to the topic, either before-or-after the conversation? i.e. its the more mundane, already-known-about type of search-term/cookie based spying?

It would surely not be that hard to methodically test a "spying phone" hypothesis?
 
I noticed water on the floor today in the laundry room, after some investigating it looks like the chimney for my water heater is leaking water. Just one drop like every minute or so. It's not in use anymore as I switched to an electric one a year ago and it's capped. It's been very mild lately so I wonder if I have an ice dam forming on the roof where it comes out. Going to have to go on the roof tomorrow and investigate that further. Hopefully it's not leaking anywhere else that I'm not seeing. I put a bucket for now.

I need to look at redoing my roof next summer so I'll eliminate that chimney completely in the process. One less thing coming out of the roof.
 
Went to check this morning, bucket is dry, and there's no more water coming out of the pipe. Weird. Whatever it is, is minor at least. Going to still go up on the roof on my next day off to check for anything obvious.
 
Been trying to open an account at Schwabb to take them for a $100 promotion.

Web application form errored out. Attempts to log in get a phone number to call. No one can help, they send me a form to mail or fax. FAX? Is this the 1980s? No way to send via some secure web method.

Fill the form in Adobe. Go to print it out to sign and mail. Printer dies on the last page. Can't finish what I need.

Find out this old laptop has a modem in it and Windows has a built in Fax setup. Get it all rigged up, won't send .... something about resolution not matching, but no further instructions. Wants TIFF only, no PDF or JPG.


Try my older dead all-in-one printer that won't print cuz heads. Get it to start up and go to the fax function. Goes through the whole process, but then beepbeepbeepbeep ... Try Again. Don't know if it sent or not.

Call Schwabb for the 18th time or so. They can't see it yet, either way. Will be a few hours at least before they know, yay or nay of they even got it.

$100 ain't a whole lot of $$$ and I've probably spent that much in time trying to get it done, but I'm angry and I'm a gonna get it!!!
