I packed a nuclear jalapeño for lunch, and it was a little more than I wanted. I'd have taken half if I knew how hot it would be. I get them from aldi, and they're different every time. Sometimes they're nuclear, and other times they taste like green peppers that were shipped on a truck with a hot pepper on board. Sometimes they're perfect. No indication of what you're gonna get til you try them

Having a pool sounds fun, but for the amount of times I would probably actually use it, it would definitely not be worth the hassle of maintaining it.

Woke up to find one of my outdoor cameras dark and unresponsive.

Set up is LAN >> Multiport POE inserter/switch >> POE Extractor/splitter >> Camera.

The other devices all worked, but I've had situations where a port on the Switch buggers up and a reboot of the switch fixes it. Not this time. Frack, really not in the mood to buy a camera. Then I remembered I'd had another extractor fail recently.

Grabbed a spare and some tools and headed out. Lowered the almost 30' pole and swapped it. Bingo. Camera booted.

At least it was a $4 part and not a $40 camera.

Honda Odyssey Touring I just picked up has paddle shifters... WTF, it's a minivan, all that does is get in the way of me seeing markings on the stalks without shifting my head.

My first world problem is that I've had a few annoying first world problems lately and I'm so annoyed I forgot what they are specifically, just that I'm annoyed.

Maybe if the picture was idiot proof because I have no idea what it's trying to show.

That piece of plastic with a plus sign? That is the paddle shifter. On a 10 speed minivan. You pull that it shifts gear up. You pull the one on the left hand side it shifts down.

Pull them both at the same time. Do it!

My truck has a slow drain on the battery, I really should have tried to troubleshoot that in summer when it's warm but got busy and never did. Now the drain is so bad it can't even last a shift without the battery going flat. So I have to disconnect it when I get to work and connect it back when it's end of shift. If they could actually get the block heater plugs to work it wouldn't be so bad as I could just plug it in.

Son is home for winter break so he has been using the Forester. Last night he got home and told us the battery is dying because he forgot and left the lights on while chatting with his buddies at the mall parking lot. Charged it overnight so I could started it and took it to Costco to get a new battery.

After switching out the battery, the car would started and with the engine ran for a few seconds, then died. Tried turning it several times and same result.

Son googled and found out there was this idle relearning thing. So after disconnecting the old battery, leave the car off for 30 minutes. Afterward put the key in and turn to ignition without starting for 15 seconds. Next start the car and let it run for 15 minutes. Turn it off and wait 5 minutes, then start the car and run it for another 5 mins.

Yes, the wife was totally not please since she had accompanied us to Costco, less then a week after her stomach surgery to remove a tumor. However it really worked.

I laughed, but then I googled to see more and found out 0-60's 6.5, for a minivan that's really damn impressive. There could actually be some use for those paddles, you might be able to get it down to 6.3 lol.

Troubleshooting issue on a mail server. Zero info provided on why it's failing just says error.

"Refer to server log for more information."

I *AM* looking at the server log FFS!

Figured it out. Weird errors like this are 99% always a permission issue. Chmod 777 and everything works... obviously don't want to leave it like that but at least it gives me a place to start.
