Forecast said mostly clear tonight, so I made a fire, but it's pretty much solid clouds right now. Also, the whisky bottle got away from me, so my second glass is significantly more stout than I wanted. Oh, well. I'll be good and lit for my shepherds pie in the oven. It's just a frozen concoction from aldi, but it's one of my favorite things ever. All for the bargain price of $7

Wtf are you ordering from Wuhan China?

Dual port network cards for a Proxmox cluster I'll be building, didn't realize where it came from until after I ordered it. Just filtered by free shipping and sorted by price. It's crazy how it cost like $50 to ship something within Canada or from the states but yet it's free from China. Government subsidizes shipping from China.

My keyboard has some sporadically dead keys, and it keeps me from logging into my keychain at login. Weird thing is it seems to be temperature dependent. Once I have a fire started, and the computer gets a little warmer, the dead keys start working again. Could be coincidence, but I don't know why time alone would cause the keys to work.

I tried signing in and was getting a message that my IP address was banned. Turns out that was not the case, but when I got the message I spent a good amount of time thinking about what ban-able content I had posted lately.

Kind of an on-going problem since I was told to do a laser procedure on my eye, but health insurance is my problem. And I'm dealing with 2 trying to figure out if my procedure is going to be covered. initially told I still had my deductible to pay before insurance kicks in. But I also have out of pocket that I need to meet on top of deductible. But wait, my secondary might pay for it 100%. But may not. Who knows? No one at the Dr. office who does this crap on a daily. So I call both insurances and lo and behold, both would cover 100%, no pre-auth. But I need to meet deductibles, which I already have. But who knows? Apparently, maybe not even the ins. customer service people? WT actual F? I guess I'll find out in a month or so when I get my EOB.

So that nasty coughing got so bad I ended up calling someone to take over my shift and checking in to the ER. ended up with pneumonia and I'm on antibiotics now. Slept for over a day straight. Feeling completely out of it but the coughing slowed down at least and when it comes it's not as intense.

This thing has been going around for a while, tons of people at the office got it. I don't even think that's where I got it though. I was off for like 10 days, and only started to see symptoms on the last day off.

That's crazy! Less than a week ago, a workmate's daughter who goes to school in Dubai got her condition worsened into pneumonia too, despite multiple doctor visits! The medication he gave didn't prevent the onset of pneumonia. Seems like phase 2 of the Chinese Covid plan might be beginning

Was really looking forward to watching the Detroit Lions vs Green Bay Packers tonight. Flight ends up getting delayed so I will be on a plane and not near a tv. I check the flight and they offer live TV with seatback screens. Great I thought. Then I realized the game is on Amazon Prime. No way I will have a fast enough connection to stream it on the flight.

Also I find airports during Christmas to be incredibly depressing. Nothing like being away from your family traveling for work and you have Christmas music about togetherness and family blaring in the terminal. Kind of eerie and off putting.

I have several packages on the way, and they seem to have all stalled, either they did not get shipped yet, or tracking just shows the label got created. I guess they are being shipped via Canada Post which are on strike.

Predictive text selection has been updated on the iPhone. It is now as bad as Word for inconsistently yet always guessing wrong. Unlike Word, one can’t turn it off.

Oddly enough, the same FWP I was about to comment about (and I'm not in Canada).

Took 5 days for things to be marked as 'dispatched' and even then, they provided no tracking data. I vaguely recall that always happens at this time of year - I think it's because it's getting close to the Christmas post season. Ominious part is, now I think about it, it's always around this time that packages tend to fail to arrive at all. I think it's because the Royal Mail and the other courier companies all take on lots of temporary staff at this time because of that Christmas surge.

Ham shop in a town not quite too far away that usually makes sandwiches on demand had a sign hung in the door. No sandwiches until January.

Clerk said something about Holiday orders. They have a website and ship stuff out, so I guess they get busier this time of year.

Thing is, they'll slice ham to order for you to make your own little sandwiches at home.

How much difference is there between slicing it and wrapping in paper vs. slicing it and wrapping in bread?

It's OK though ... they use crappy bread. I can use better bread at home.

So the Canada Post strike is causing backlog with all the couriers it seems, that's what's going on with all my packages. Some places are not even accepting packages to be sent out anymore as they are too backlogged.

Was gonna buy a Bluetooth speaker on Amazon, noticed it said upcoming deal next to the price and asked if I wanted to be notified. It was already on sale but I thought maybe the new deal would be a part 2 Cyber Monday 50% off or someshits. So I decided to wait.

The deal is buy 20 get 1 free...

who the hell buys 20 Bluetooth speakers?

There's a literal Canada post strike going on for weeks now. Squirrel wouldn't know, all he reads it's melt your mind misinformation and thinks that is news.
