These new apples I've bought are so damn sweet I can't stop eating them. They are lip smackingly good gentlemen. Like sucking on a fat lump of sugar. My new favorite apple variety. I'm going to end up a few pounds fatter this month because of them. Sugar bee is the variety.

I doubt that. You are more likely to LOSE a bit of weight due to all the fiber. And the mallic acid in apples is good for improving energy levels. Make sure to eat them with the skin.

Fiber only makes you feel full and helps you poo. An apple a day is fine, but as I said last week I tend to eat anywhere from 2-4 apples a day. I've had 17 of them in the last 2 days on top of everything else I eat. I consider myself an apple lover but I've never had apples this sweet before.

I feel less guilty about consuming two racks of ribs and a kilo of fries yesterday for lunch.

Reading the article on the AT front page about AMD's new video encode card, I realized that I have no idea how people are using the internet anymore. I understand that youtube and facebook have many, many streams to encode but I don't understand the broader market. Who needs these cards for doing what? One commenter alludes to running recognition algorithms on the streams for license plate reading, suggesting a surveillance market. Who else is processing so many video streams that power/stream becomes a critical issue?

First-world problem? Ha! Try more like third-world:

On Wednesday afternoon, an ice storm caused a chain of power outages for about one million people in Quebec.
My house was relatively lucky: we had our electricity restored some 34 hours later.
As I write this, there are still a few neighbourhoods in the dark (and cold).
Unacceptable for a 21st century country that pretends to be civilised...

Always liked Apples. I don't think I've gone a day without at least one, even if I was battling stomach issues. I've had my fair share of terrible apples in my life. Mealy or tasting strange.

It's now pear season and I'm including a pear or two a day. There's some trails near me with what I know are wild edible berries though I hesistate to call them wild because none have thorns. Thornless are very much a modern domesticated berry species. Someone planted the pups in the wild which is a big time NO because it disturbs the natural flora and fauna. I may try finding some pups to dig out and plant in my yard. I haven't looked at the other berries plant matter to see if I can figure out what variety they are. There was but a few non shriveled berries this past growth season and from what I could tell from sight and taste they had to have been planted there because it was a foreign cultivar and is not native to NA.

Did a clean small cut of my index finger trying to set up some trellises. The cotton string yarn I used usually can be snapped if I pinch and pull on the strong but this must have been a tight section. About a mm deep. I need to redo a few of them because they developed too much slack in them. Hope my cukes turn out to be decent this year.

It's been crazy. I was on the HQ site the other day and holy crap! Lit up like a Christmas tree.

Quebec outages seem to always last days too. This storm felt more like what we usually get around Christmas. We had lot of techs with generators trying to keep communications going. Things seem to have calmed down now at least for the area we manage.

I'm in Ontario and it did not hit us as hard as it hit Quebec though. Here it was mostly snow and crazy winds and a bit of freezing rain but not really enough to cause damage.

Been getting multiple Gmail notifications on my phone every 5 or so seconds for 10 minutes now for newsletters and shit I'm now signed up for. Either the fucker who h4x0r3d my password list last year is getting revenge for being unable to get any money from all his hard work. Or I'm just very unlucky and somebody else is super bored.

While typing this my phone has went off about 50 more times. Correcting this should be fun. Any suggestions outside of adding them all to a spam list? A lot are not in English, and 2 that I clicked on to view I didn't see an unsubscribe button.

I find it interesting with as advanced as Google's spam filer is they haven't detected anything unusual about me signing up for 500 different new letters. I got about 50 more since I mentioned the last 50.

Way to go Google on blocking the Spams.

You didn't like my ad for Spud Mud®, the sunscreen made from real tater-tots?

I didn't see that one, does it work well? I'm a ginger so sunscreen's my friend. Sounds like if I tried it I'll just end up burnt and smelling like hash browns, but I could be wrong.

It's slowed down a lot, but I'm still getting probably about 40 "thanks for signing up for our newsletter" emails an hour. I'm impressed at whoever wrote the bot script that's doing this. Because every site I sign up for a newsletter from there's at least 1 step at the end to verify you're a human. Maybe whoever made this found every site that doesn't have bot checking. I have over 2,000 welcome emails and they're still coming in almost every minute.

And Google apparently still doesn't see anything suspicious going on.

You weren't born on the 8th, 17th or 26th of a month, by any chance, were you? You post a lot about crap happening to you. It's like you are a bad juju magnet (no offense!)

Next time you see a homeless person, give them something to eat. They might pray for your good luck (and you never know, it could be an angel in disguise and then your life turns around for the best).

I wanted a snack before I went to bed, so I opened a can of tomatoes, okra, and corn, but there wasn't a single piece of okra :^(

I ordered East Side Marios food through Skip The Dishes and got an error, so I tried again a few times and it kept failing, so I just went directly on the restaurant's site which I should have done in first place, and ordered from there.

Turns out even though I was getting an error the orders were still going through and the 2nd one just came in now.

I will be eating Italian food for the next few days.

I normally consider pasta and stuff of that nature to be Italian food. The same way chicken balls, rice etc is Chinese food. They may not actually eat the same food in those places, but here it's considered to be that.
