Placed an order a couple of weeks ago for multiple items.

Got an email the next day that two items were out of stock and would be shipped when available.

Then I get emails that three packages are coming.

Got the first one today .... one of the items that was out of stock.

One coming tomorrow ... by the looks of the information it will be the other item that was out of stock.

The other package containing main bulk that was all in stock does not yet show a delivery date.

Had to go setup my desk at our new office location. From sounds of it, our days of working home full time are probably going to end in the next week or so. It was bound to happen though. I just hope stuff stays status quo, where we work 12h shifts in the office and 8h shifts at home, I find that was working out the best. Of course full time at home would be even better!

The new office area is actually decent though, we have our own little coffee nook and small fridge at least so don't have to use the common area which is further, and we even have an arcade machine. They've actually tried to make the place a bit more fun over the years from look of it. So maybe it won't be all too bad once we get used to being with that many people. We kind of had it nice and cushy at the telco exchange office where it was basically the building to ourselves.

Got a 5 pound bag of shredded cheese today for cheap. I had a feeling I should have tried it there, but didn't. Once I got home and sampled it, I realized I should have bought a second bag. It's good. Real good, but not good enough to make a 60 mile round trip.

I would never buy shredded cheese. They add cellulose to it to make it not clump together.

Didn't realize that about shredded cheese. Ya might have to stop buying that too and just grate my own when I need it.

What game is it?

Had to be back at home for 5pm with my PC to login for 2 hours so I didn't take time to check it out but I think it's a Mame cabinet so probably has a bunch of different games. I can see that being fun on night shift, and where my desk is, I can actually see my alarms right from where the machine is. :D I hated being at that location when I saw it on the diagram but now that I saw it in person, it actually works out alright. I'm close to the coffee machine too. That's the important part.

The biggest holdup for us to be moved there is that the internal network guy has a beef with our boss so he's dragging out turning up our network connections so we still don't have connectivity yet. All the physical cabling is there, all he has to do is turn the port up at the switch but he's being an ass. My boss has escalated it several levels high. A little further and it's going to the CEO lol. We're not complaining though, the longer this takes the longer we keep working every shift from home. Either way I'm kind of glad I got myself setup so at least that's done and over with. Had to happen at some point.

Cellulose doesn't hurt anything. Shredded cheese is easy for quick dumb stuff. I used to shred my own assuming it was cheaper, but actually looked at the price of shredded cheese, and I wasn't saving anything. I shred my own when I want something nicer, or use uncommon cheeses.

You can upload the PDF to some free online service to convert the images to searchable text.

Try this: https://www.pdf2go.com/create-searchable-pdf

I thought about that, but my luck is shit so 100% whatever site I tried it would have gotten to the last step and then told me to download the file I need to give them a credit card so I could get a $1 trial or something. And *IF* I did that, with my luck they'd make it almost impossible to cancel and I'd end up on the phone with my bank getting a $59.99 yearly charge for a site I'll never use again reversed.

I can never find sites that do shit for free it seems. #1tsworldproblems

Maybe the network guy and your boss can duke it out over a game of Street Fighter 2.

So Outlook 365 has a new feature where it finds LinkedIn profiles for people in your emails. I had an email with someone I didn't know copied on it so I tried it out. Click the LinkedIn popup in outlook to "take me to this person's LinkedIn profile." When I clicked it, the program got caught in an infinite loop and opened up a dozen Microsoft Edge windows and CPU usage went to 50%. Had to manually end the task.

Just lost a satellite link. Good luck trying to get any techs on a Saturday! Last time it happened on my shift it cleared on it's own within an hour so maybe I will sit on it...

I don't think it's satellite transit season yet either so cant blame that. :p I think that happens in April or so.

...and it cleared! Maybe a Chinese balloon was just passing by and blocked the signal for a bit. :p

The Deli at Ralphs (Krogers) changed their policy and they told me they can't slice the stick of Boar's Head Picante Soppressata or Pepperoni I buy anymore. So now I'll have to hand slice this for the pizzas I'm making Monday and the slices are going to come out all sorts of uneven thickness :( Some will be too thick and not cup and char, and others will be too thin and burn up. :( I really need to hurry up and buy a deli slicer so I can properly slice my Pepperoni sticks.

We completed an exploration drilling program and it is time to put the drill pads and temporary access roads to bed. I got a call from the sub doing the earthwork saying that reclamation was all done and ready for final inspection. I drove out to the site this morning to find beautifully graded and bermed roads and smooth as glass drill pads. Somewhere along the line the word reclaim was replaced with repair. The blade operator did such nice work I hated to break the news to him. :(

My paycheck stubs are available the Wednesday of a week when we get paid that Friday. My paycheck this week includes my annual bonus. I checked my stub today to find out that after taxes I am getting a little over 53% of my 5 figure bonus... Also I walked face first through a spiderweb on my way back from lunch.

VLC is still defaulting to 32bit installer download and it pukes on 4k files :colbert:

To add insult to injury the help about does not tell you if it is 32bit or 64bit...

Couldn't decide which band to pick when I ordered my Apple Watch Ultra. I had planned to order a 2nd so I could switch it up, I knew Apple bands aren't cheap but I had no idea the ones for the Ultra are $99. So I had to really really put thought into it. Naturally, I went with the bright ass yellow one which goes with no clothes or shoes I own. And it'll be no extra band for me, well not any official ones anywho. Watching some YT videos on the other bands there are fools who have bought like every one Apple makes, which is apeshit crazy. Me? I'm going to be 1stworldpoor with only a single Apple band for my watch. And if I buy some 3rd party peasant bands that'll be pretty damn 3rdworldish. I'm also making 36 monthly payments because I'm 1st world poor and can't technically afford the watch. 3 years is a damn car loan for most people lol.

BOOOO!

For whatever reason, the Hermes edition is just the normal 8. Who wants to spend $1,200+ on a base model Apple Watch? The Ultra has all sorts of added shit I don't need and probably won't ever use. But it has more shit and that's pretty important or something.

Besides, I'm already gonna be making payments for 3 years, with a Hermes it would have probably been 5 years, that's crazy. Not that 36 months isn't crazy but 60's extreme. I mean I know I could pay it off in 3 months if I wanted to, but I'm paying no interest so there's really no reason to rush.

Everything I ordered to complete my headphone/audio setup arrived faster than expected - to do some critical listening on my laid back Sunday - except for one main component that is just sitting in Texas thanks to FedEx. FedEx proves again it is the worst of the big three carriers, and Texas just still sucks in general including for where good packages go to die.
