We do have a privacy cove in the vehicle. I just worry about what I can reasonably put in there. For example I had some replacement parts - wiper blades, air filter, cabin air filter, washer fluid, etc I wasn't sure about leaving these items in the trunk area. For peace of mind I like to take everything out of the trunk and leave the privacy canvas rolled up. Perhaps that is naiive and just something I do because it's a newer vehicle.

I'm sure it would be OK. I would also like to store jumper cables in the trunk. Just being compulsive about it since this is my first "new"" (used) car as an adult so I am wanting to be super secure against break ins.For literally YEARS when I was a courier in NYC (mini-pickup NOT bike!) I had a cap on the rear bed that only APPEARED to be securely locked.
Evidently it was pretty convincing since I never got robbed once!![]()

Is there no storage under the flooring in the back?I would also like to store jumper cables in the trunk.

Yeah, that is a bummer. Hopefully he'll come back.Well that sucks!![]()
Just bought a pair of 20 ft 1 gauge. Hoping it fits into the hole in the tire underneath the floor. Is there no storage under the flooring in the back?
PicsBuild some kind of chest, then line it with garbage bags full of random bits of foam, cardboard etc, make it look like a big pile of garbage. Throw a bunch of Mcdonald's and Tim hortons cups and trays in there along with other various fast food bags. Make it look super trashy. Nobody will try to steal anything, hopefully.![]()
My wife kept pestering me for a new car. I (we) owned a 2002 Civic prior to our marriage. She did not own a car at all. The Civic was just fine and was in pristine condition with 145,000 miles. Minimal rust, no check engine light, recently replaced water pump, timing belt, rear shocks, etc. Wife kept bothering me about the maintenance costs so I gave in and we bought a 2018 Subaru Impreza. I'm happy with that. She now has a backup cam and all wheel drive. Next car we buy will by my choice lol. You're in the "Honeymoon" phase hmmm?
My advice is wait a few months for the novelty to wear off PRIOR to buying anything car-related that's not mission-critical!
And unless you have a REALLY nice hatchback (nice to you doesn't count sorry) or park in the "hood" a lot, nobody cares about your car unless:
(1) They can chop it up for parts and make a big profit (unlikely if it's not a Honda Civic)
(2) They can smash a window and grab something valuable easily (we covered this ... also cables DO NOT = valuable)
(3) It's parked blocking their driveway (100% on you!)
Most of this will seem obvious too once the honeymoon is over!![]()

Da heck? No hugs or kisses?
Told him to stay out of P&N.
Condolences for you niece.Well, my bad for getting overly involved in P&N (well, spending too much time paying attention to politics in general)
I needed better balance in my life and just completely backed out of somethings to sort some stuff out, plus Holy Week
was coming up and I devote more time to prayer and reflection, but I had become an ATF addict.
In the end, it was really about my niece, who was in the hospital, who had bounced back and the Drs. she had months to live or longer if she could get a donor kidney.
Then her body shutdown again and the Drs. said she had days. I pretty much lost it emotionally. I had, over this lent started looking at a lot of thing differently,
but this turn just put important things, like family and faith, back into focus. Things may have been different if we had been able to get her to a Boston hospital early on,
but no ICU's because of Covid. I was POed at everything. She passed peacefully last week.
Anyway, I plan to hang around but be less active (like not checking in 10 times a day to see what's new). I'll only disable my account again if I spend too much time here.
Oh, xoxo![]()
I can't seem to get a consistent cup of coffee at home anymore and I really don't know why. I even tried replacing the coffee machine. I'd say 1 of 5 cups actually taste good, the rest just taste stale, almost like drinking just hot water, there's just no taste, and sometimes a weird after taste. I'm using beans that I grind and use right away, and using filtered water. This used to make really good coffee and it just kind of stopped. Just don't get it! I find myself just going to Tim Hortons more now.
Been trying to cut back on coffee though, so maybe this is a cue to do it... lol.
Geez, with the shift work you do, I'd be upping my coffee intake. 1/2 gallon a day would probably do it (that's probably what I consumed when I was coding and going to night school for my masters).I can't seem to get a consistent cup of coffee at home anymore and I really don't know why.
