Thanks to the lockdown and the consequent difficulties with food shopping, last week I was reduced to eating a can of spam (that someone had given me, found, long-forgotten, in the back of the cupboard).
I literally haven't tasted spam since the early 1970s. I thought it had to be better than I remembered it. It wasn't.

That stuff is vile.

Finding a bag of cashews, of either variety, would be a triumph at this point.

I recently had 2 cases of Spam delivered because I used up all my previous supply. I love Spam. It's so easy to use and tastes great. Now, if you eat it straight out the can like a retard, then it's probably too salty and worse than ham. But if you incorporate Spam in your cooking, you can make some tasty dishes using it. I made spicy potato and Spam stew couple days ago. Terrific.

If I had a wide range of supporting ingredients available I probably wouldn't have been resorting to the lost zone at the back of the cupboard in the first place! I fried it. It was 'orrible. I'm not converting to spamism! (I gather it's hugely popular in some regions, like Japan or Hawaii maybe? I'm not gonna begrudge anyone their different tastes, but it's not for me. Even your pic I find myself thinking 'looks nice...but it's got spam in it'.. Would be more appealing if I thought it was chicken or lamb or something)

I love lightly salted cashews. One of my favorite snacks.

I didn't eat any last year because I was going low carb but the other day at the grocery store I thought to myself "Fuck it. If I'm going to die from this virus I might as well have some lightly salted cashews before I go."

So today I open the can, pour myself some into a small bowl, get ready to enjoy, and.........GACK.

I bought honey roasted cashews by mistake. They're DISGUSTING. They taste like cashews with sugar poured on them.

Screw this life.

@SaltyNuts might be able to help you out... :p

I went to Sam's Club yesterday and got some ground beef and it was $3.58/lb (90 lean/10 fat) for about $16/pack. I just went to Kroger today and ground beef was $1.20/lb (80 lean/20 fat) or $6/pack. Overpaid $10 USD or 3x the price for about 10% lesser fat ground beef.

Now's a great time to buy a guitar and I've seen some incredible deals. But I purchased 4 guitars last year, a Fractal Axe-FX III, FC-6 foot pedal, (2) Xitone cabs and a Matrix GT1000FX (2U) unit. So I'm not allowed any toys right now :( lol

Looks like our ~4 year old Samsung fridge is taking a shit. Was "blossoming" ice out of the vents inside...sign of several possible problems, bad defrost circuit, plugged drain line, etc. Unplugged the fridge for several hours, stuck a hair dryer inside, warmed the case up until there was no more ice.
Let it cool a couple of hours, then plugged it in. Freezer cools fabulously...fridge...not so much. Gonna try a couple of other DIY type things. No appliance repair people working in my area. (Too far out for one guy, other isn't doing service because of the stay at home orders.

Anxiety and stress messes with me badly, got something on the mind perhaps? I can imagine most do. I suffer from a thing called Hypomania and its been very active lately more so then usual. Causes me little sleep, then tons of energy then i eat essentially nothing sometimes for days cause my body is under tremendous stress. Yet the odd thing is i am overly happy and usually in a good mood. Lost so much weight cause of this.

I need to meditate and think on things often to relax, sometimes i need indica cause it brings me closer to another place. That and it helps help me with pain and all of the above as well.

I feel for you and hope you figure out whats illing you :(
I'm not sure. I've always had a lower appetite which is probably partly responsible for me being thin all my life.

I don't think I'm under any more stress; if anything that's lower with my new job (no on-call which used to stress me out kinda, admittedly). I'm not sure.

I wish there was an appetite stimulant I could take. Or if I could just eat like normal people rofl.

I kind of wish I had your problem. When I was (much) younger, I was active enough that I could eat pretty much anything I wanted...my weight never fluctuated by more than 5 lbs either way. Nowadays, I gain 10 lbs just by driving by a donut shop...

I only got this for you, i just finished this off and if this "bunker buster" does not work for me then nothing will . Maybe you can find a lower dosage and take it before bed? I can't suggest this stuff enough it helps me all the time. I call it the bunker buster cause it just plows through me, kicks like a mule and if i exhibit any anxiety/hypomania/insomnia/lack of appetite or all i eat the entire damn thing and i just reset for 3 days straight at times. Usually a 2 day reset. If its legal there give it a try?

Edit: i only suggest the indica strand when possible, this bar has it for sure its the dominate strand with i believe sativa in it. Sativa may not work for ya usually never does when it comes to medical use.

I went through a stage where I never have an appetite. Early 20's or so. I was grossly skinny and I just could not gain weight. Was like 110 lbs. Oddly enough I started getting more of an appetite and started gaining weight once I joined the gym. Did that for a few years then quit mostly out of laziness but still worked out at home here and there. Just found it hard to actually GO to the gym especially when I switched to a job that was not nearby. It also means an extra time in the day that I need to take snow off the car, scrape the windows etc. Pain in the ass. It's the part of winter I hate the most. Now I manage to keep a decent weight even with just the occasional workout. I'm at around 145 last I checked which is normal for my height.

I need to work on eating better though, I don't eat a lot, but what I eat is not the healthiest. Need to force myself to learn to cook more for myself instead of eating prepackaged chicken stuff. Been saying that for years though, I just don't have the will power, when I look at a recipe it's Chinese to me.

Ouch. I feel your pain.

7-8 years ago I bought the best regular Kenmore dishwasher Sears had. It was like $1500. The damn thing lasted about a month after the warranty ran out. The motor completely burned out. To make matters worse: The wheels on both dish racks broke (a known issue, as I was to find out). I had to order parts several times.

I was pissed and let it sit for a few years and handwashed everything as punishment. Then, in Sear's apparent hurry to race towards bankruptcy, I got a call from them about a no-questions-asked warranty for like $250. I even asked the salesperson "This will work even if it's broken now?" and the guy said "yes". So I bought it.

Sure enough, the dishwasher was deemed fried and I got a $500 voucher to get a new one. I ended up selecting a Kenmore model that was just under $500.

Worked fine for a couple of years, and guess what? The damn wheels just broke AGAIN about 3-4 weeks ago. Stupid PoS. I'm almost ready to trash it and buy anything non-Kenmore.

But now I'm wary of Samsung as well.

Wow i love Samsung. All but those cheap cell phones. You may be the first i ever seen to not trust Samsung. I used to love LG myself but their cell phones are utter trash and i had a lg tv exhibit all kinds of random ass menu pops for connected component despite no component hooked in.....Sony decided my $500 blu ray player/1000 watt sound system needed updates that broke both hulu and youtube apps. MY last thing from Sony period.

The fridge came with the house when we bought it in Dec. 2018. Unbeknownst to us, Samsung refrigerators have a long history of this exact problem. IF I can't repair it, I won't be buying a Samsung to replace it. Probably Whirlpool. They're not always the best...I've never had one fail less than 10 years old.

I was a "buy NOTHING Korean made" for a long time after getting burned by Lucky Goldstar in the 80's. (LG is Lucky Goldstar)
I got convinced to tey a Samsung DVD burner by someone on these forums. It was fabulous...so, in 2013, I bought a Samsung f/l washer and dryer set. That was OK. Worked well enough...so, I bought a new larger set when we moved into this house. Not quite as "pain-free" as the last set...but still works fine.

Sony's been on my shit list as well. I spent WAY too much money years ago on a STR-D715 receiver so everyone would think I was cool. In less than 6 months the front left audio channel started failing (intermittent static). I sent it to Sony twice and it came back the same both times. I'll always harbor some resentment towards them for that.

My first PS2 overheated as well. Luckily my friend gave me his to replace it.

When it comes to appliances I find it's best to stick with the more classic brands like Inglis, Electrolux, Frigidaire, Kenmore (are they still around?) etc. I find Samsung, LG etc are all garbage. They're made to look hip and trendy and high tech with all the bells and whistles, but those are all just extra failure points. The old style classic fridge with top freezer is one of the more proven and solid designs. Just way less things to break. Guess it's probably hard to buy those now days? I haven't had a need to shop for a fridge. Even when I bought my house it came with one.

Hey i learned something new, that is good. I always thought LG stood for "Lifes Good" . Thanks for the explanation :) Ge has been insanely good for me for house appliances, i even had a 1930s era belt driven Ge that still worked like new. It looked more or less just like this one.....

Well and a friend i called 3 beer bob and me would get higher then a kite on his pipe, drink a 12 pack usually of some budweiser then jam to like classic rock at 500+ watts on youtube or watch Stargate sg-1 on Hulu so of course with all the fun we was having stopped cause these updates made both apps non stop crash like every few mins then eventually youtube stopped completely.

I gave him the system as a gift as he loved to blare his music, watch his stargate and drink his whiskey, i ended up going to headphone gaming and after that he was always upset how shitty that Sony got cause after a while it kept getting updates on its own then the apps started doing their things. I had to get him a smart t.v then we just had the speakers run from that.
