I got a call this afternoon. My boss says she needs me in the conference room. Heading to the office I pass another supervisor on the phone saying she will be right there.. A minute later I passed the warehouse manager and he was on the phone.. OH FUCK.

Get to the conference room and its my boss and her boss and they tell me to wait. One by one the supervisors from all the departments show up. They inform us sales are down 70% . Hours are being cut and salaries are being cut. They said if we could save money without cutting hours in our departments we could avoid this.

Sux. I'm sure there's gonna be a LOT of that happening before this COVID19 shit is over.

They closed the gym at work. Now how am I gonna work out my 'ceps, bro?
Yeah they closed Anytime Fitness until April 1st, and I didn't even get to do my workout yesterday before they did! Lol.

That's probably the thing that pisses me off most about this virus crap. I actually picked up a few dumbells at the store yesterday and am getting just a simple bench shipped from Amazon on Saturday. I'm trying to gain weight and this virus bullshit ain't gonna stop that if I can help it. At least I'll be able to do a little bit at home.

I'm supposed to travel next week and due to coronavirus outbreak I have been told not to travel, now I'm trying to cancel my reservations and it's basically impossible due to wait times on the phone or through online chat.

my instant pot cost me precious video gaming time.

making corned beef and cabbage for st. patty's day and i realized i could have just tossed everything into the dutch oven in the oven as i cut it up (because it's massive) rather than waiting for all the cabbage to cook down to fit into the instant pot (it's not massive). and because stuff will burn to the bottom of the instant pot, i had to keep stirring it. which i don't have to do with the dutch oven. if i'm stirring i'm not vidya gaming.

I was going to get a corned beef from Costco as theirs is pretty good but I didn't want to go to Costco because I don't like going to Costco even when things aren't fubared. Now I have no corned beef. :(

Finally got my blueberries out of the "whiskey barrel" planters they've been in since 2014. 3 of them were in excellent condition...one of them had nearly no roots...and the soil was soggy as hell. I suspect the roots rotted from all the rain we've had this winter combined with less than ideal drainage in the bottom of the planters. Sux to lose one (if I can't save it) but it was my poorest producer, so not a terrible loss.

With all the virus thing going around, now we have bad weather. It rained heavily last night and now it is cloudy and it will rain all week. Darmn, when it rains, it pours hard indeed.

I did get some gas after work this evening and it was $1.79/gal regular. Now it is $1.75/gal for the same gas. Almost a nickel cheaper in a few hours? Shocking.

Yeah my area had a couple nice days but then it got cold and rainy again. People who were fine before may be getting sick. Weak immune system means more susceptible to disease.

my problem today is that the gas pump at costco shuts off and refuses to pump at anything more than a crawl with about a gallon and a half to go. the other costco isn't like this, but it's not as convenient. also, i couldn't run inside for a slice or a dog b/c the cops were only letting a few people in at a time.

this is really good the next day

Hardly seeing gas go down here. The stations in my city all agree on a price and keep it high. Super annoying.

I heard of some cities where gas is under a dollar now, it's crazy. Have not seen that here since before 9/11 except for a few times for like a day.

Yeah. Since 2001 I only saw it under a dollar one more time: Late 2008. For most of 2008 it was around/over $3. I think it was pushing $4 when I got my motorcycle to save gas.

$1.99 in Charlotte, NC today when I filled up, and if I really wanted to, I could drive over the border to SC where it is usually around .30 - .40 cents cheaper.

Low gas prices have been about the only good news we've had the last 10 days or so. Both my kids are out of school right now, with the one in college still submitting some assignments online, while my youngest son in high school gets to stay home and do nothing with education as the they don't have the capabilities to do online assignments. So the state board said no K-12 grade schools could assign any kind of assignment for grading, so they are recommending students stay sharp by reading books and reworking some lessons they've already had earlier in the year. But since that has no affect on grades, it's tough to motivate our high school senior to do that.

I was blessed with a new work laptop in January. With the move to teleworking this week, this is the first I've spent much time working with it off of the docking station. MFMFers! The IT folks, we'll call them MFMFers for short, thought it wise and benevolent to disable user control of the touchpad settings. Who the f' does this? I f'in' hate f'in' touchpads and disable them whenever possible. And with this computer, it ain't possible. So now I have to wait until both me and the local MFMFer are in the office to have him change the setting. :(
