I was blessed with a new work laptop in January. With the move to teleworking this week, this is the first I've spent much time working with it off of the docking station. MFMFers! The IT folks, we'll call them MFMFers for short, thought it wise and benevolent to disable user control of the touchpad settings. Who the f' does this? I f'in' hate f'in' touchpads and disable them whenever possible. And with this computer, it ain't possible. So now I have to wait until both me and the local MFMFer are in the office to have him change the setting. :(
Pull out the hd, and install a new one with gnu/linux. That's what I did on my workstation.

My favorite Andy Sidaris films have been put on Bluray but they did a piss poor job scanning the film.
The image bounces around all over the place. They didnt scan one frame at a time and put the movie back together. They scanned the film while it was rolling. Looks terrible too, they must have used a cheap machine or didnt know what they were doing.

I'm not eligible to receive a check from the government in the proposed $1 trillion stimulus package. Enjoy your free money from the taxes I paid ya filthy paupers!

Same here, I'm a hair over the limit, though it wouldn't have made a difference for me; I hope it helps those that are really in need.

I need to know the cutoff in order to provide a reasoned, principled response.

If single and you make up to $75,000 you get the full $1,200. It gets reduced by $5 for every $100 you make over that. Beyond $99,000 you get nothing. I think the numbers are doubled if married.

This is a brilliant idea, exactly what America needs right now. :p

Next week, if we're working, i get to work 4 12hr days :(

I love 12h shifts. Means I get more time off. When I work nights it's typically 4x12h in a row. When I get double nights in one schedule it leads to a decent amount of time off especially if the day shifts are 12h too. The perfect schedule is getting 12 12h shifts and 2 8h, then it covers the whole schedule (160h) and the rest is time off. Basically work 14 days in a 28 day period. It rarely works out that way though, usually end up with more 8h shifts for day coverage.

The snow we got yesterday was this really weird consistency, almost like spray foam. Was super hard to take off the truck. Had to let it run just so I can get the cab part done, but the box and the sides of cab and front is futile. it's not really in a safe drivable state right now but at least I got the worst of it and was able to move it to do the driveway.

I purchased a ramen noddles (large cup) from Kroger and I thought it was $1 but it was $2.50 (should scan and check the price) and Kroger is temporary suspending all returns.

Hopefully the taste would be decent and not sucky.

My wife keeps making grocery lists with specific items on it.

Grocery shopping in Connecticut doesn't work that way anymore... you buy whatever is left over and be happy that you got something :)

I'm getting ready to go to biglots and aldi. Wegmans tomorrow. Curious to see what I find.

Well, that was a clusterfuck. Lots of stuff soldout both places, and huge lines at the aldi that's usually sparse. People were pretty nice, so it could have been worse I guess. Gonna have to leave extra early for Wegmans tomorrow, and forego my breakfast sushi. Isn't worth dealing with people.

I just ate the ramen noddle bowl. It was not bad but not 2.5x better than the $1 bowl.
