My aunt and uncle invited me to stay at their very nice house for christmas and things are just so darn comfortable I cant even sleep or think straight.
also they fed me like a sultan about 3 hours ago and I'm hungry again but everything is put away in tupperware.

You really are a cat, aren't you?

Aaaaand:

Untitled.png

If I was the manager of the building, I'd install hidden cameras in each of the stalls in the bathrooms on all 4 floors. Then I'd catch the absolute knuckle draggers causing this shit. Then I'd flexcuff their hands together and lead them out behind the building. Then I'd shoot each one in the head.

Harsh? Maybe. Justified? HELLS YEAH BOYS

Not today but a few nights ago early in the morning I was driving south on a highway after a rainy day with the roads still wet and I noticed a person going rather fast entering the freeway from the on ramp... sure enough he spins out and crosses a lane or two...

I had to switch lanes (luckily it was late at night with barely any traffic) to avoid the idiot driving what turned out to be a Mustang (the head and tail lights are rather distinctive on late model Mustangs) because emergency braking by that time might have sent me out of control.

I almost became part of the Mustang wrecks meme.

I need to get a dashcam. Where I drive is not like driving in Russia by a long shot but occasionally you see some weird crap when you frequently drive in the wee hours.

My dad had an older Mustang with the 5L, nowhere near as powerful as the modern cars and driving it was like pushing a brick with a stick, the worst snow and ice car I've ever driven. However, how do people not know to take the foot off the gas as soon as the rear starts trying to come around?

Oh, and my uncle also got a brand new 70 inch 4K Smart TV. HDR of course.
We had to wait a whole thirty minutes to download updates before we could use it, and then my aunt wanted to watch shitty Victorian dramas on Netflix before she let us hook up the Xbone.
Fun Fact: Canadian Netflix is missing quite a few shows that all of us wanted to watch.
Worse part is now I'm jealous but I don't wanna spend the money to get a ginormous TV myself. I keep thinking I want to purchase a projector instead. But good gaming projectors costs about four grand.

Quality projectors can be cheap; you don't need to spend more than $2k in most cases to get something very nice from Epson or BenQ.

Check this one out:

Wait are TVs seriously in need of internet connection and updates now just to work? Freaking hell it's getting ridiculous. I knew they were all smart TVs now but did not realize you actaully had to connect it to the internet just to even use it. Does it require you to make some stupid account too? I hate the way everything is going that route.

I keep getting harassed for Wikipedia donations even though I already donated this year. They really need to add a "Already Donated" button, or perhaps a special "Fuck Off Already!" button that you can hit after the 20th reminder :)

Woah they're at 14TB now? It seems every couple months it gets higher lol. My biggest drive is like 3TB, due for an upgrade. A couple newer drives could replace all my raid arrays.

Once you get over 10 TB for a hard drive, does RAID-5 or even RAID-6 make sense anymore? Another hard drive would probably fail before it had a chance to rebuild the RAID array if one goes bad.

Yeah I don't really do raid 5 much anymore, I tend to do raid 10. Though I'd be curious to try raid 6. Not sure how bad the performance would be but you get the best redundancy and available space. Then there's ZFS, I may look into that at some point too, but I have to say mdadm raid has been solid. For me it's NFS that's my bottleneck, and I gave up trying to figure out why.

Yeah I got one a couple months ago. Have slowly been ripping my TV series collection using DVD Shrink. Its much easier to plug a 50 foot HDMI cable into my computer than it is to swap out discs all the time.

I think Amazon just removed 24 from their Prime Video streaming, like today.

I've been re-watching 24 and was on episode 2 of the 3rd season last night and now when I try to go to any of the seasons, there's just a "buy" option for the episode/season. Wtf man

torrents never have commentary or featurettes.
And I've never seen one episode of Titus available anywhere. Am glad I have the DVD collection. It now goes for about 90 bucks on Amazon.
