What first world problem did you have today?

Third world problem today. I had an engorged tick on my back D^: I didn't notice earlier cause I have bumps on my skin, and it blended in. I couldn't reach it, so I had to reach around with my knife, and cut it off. I'm sure there's still parts left inside. Hopefully my superior immune system takes care of the stragglers.
 
Trying to begin the process of sorting things to get rid of for our move. Thank goodness I went through most of my clothing last fall so most of that comes with us, my MacBook, iPad, iPhone come too. My desk, perfume cabinet, beauty supplies also come.

Wrought iron porch set has to go. Several old chairs, cat house, kitchen table, lots of glass wear etc.

And of course I will need things to fit the new place...lol
 
I keep forgetting that I need a new computer chair and getting up too late to go to Staples. They close at 5:00. Going to try again tomorrow. Kitchen chair is not the best since there's no arm rests.
 
Got some frozen poke from aldi last week. It was kinda spendy for aldi(~$7.50 I think), and it really didn't hit the spot. I can't point to anything really wrong. It just wasn't what I wanted. I think smoked fish would have been better.

No it's Hawaiian(pronounced Pō kā). It's not something I'm very familiar with, so I don't know what's authentic, but it seems to be raw fish(usually tuna), with a topping of small seeds, salt, oil, and some other stuff. The kind I got also had wasabi.

Like most fusion food, poke is inferior to the original. I'll take chirashi bowl any time over poke. Sesame oil in poke tends to overpower any raw fish.
 
my nephew made it into a sculpture...and i have no heart to tell him I spilt the whole fucking thing at the bottom of my computer desk just now.
 
Altium is not what it looks like. It does not support multiple screens properly. When i move altium windows around to have more screen space while designing a pcb, i get non stop access violations popups.
And a lot of the options that Altium has, are not tested by pcb designers obviously. I got Altium set up in such a way that it comes more near in the vicinity of Orcad/Allegro from Cadence but it has a long way to go. The options Altium has , are setup in a schizophrenic way. Very confusing.
Some functions of Altium are fantastic but i miss the icing on the cake. Now it is more capsaicinoids on the cake.
 
Have you checked out Kicad? It's free and open source. Don't know how it compares to Altium though, that's one of the industry standard ones so I imagine it's decent.

Kicad has it's issues too though, the way it handles libraries is really convoluted and inconsistent.

I want to get some circuit boards done some time, never done it before. Probably going to start with something easy like some break out boards. I have some SMD components that are way too tiny to prototype with.

I have not used Kicad, and i will be staying with Altium since we use it for work.
A colleague comes from pulsonix and he loves Altium.
I think if you go from Kicad to Altium, you will be very happy.
The thing is, Altium is good, but i am spoiled with Cadence software.
We use both Cadence and Altium.
It is like a downgrade in some aspects and similar in other aspects.
It is just that a lot of the time, it seems like a half finished product. And they are already again going to introduce new features and revamped functions with the next version.
The multimonitor crash issues are big issue. Because a lot of designers work with multi monitors.
The only thing i can do is log in to the Altium site and do some request and show when Altium crashes with screenshots for the bug report department.
 
I bought a new computer chair because my cat puked on my last one and there is no possible way to clean that properly enough, and it was kind of in rough shape anyway. Only downside is the arm rests are way too far apart. I'll have to see if I can get used to it, but don't know. When I'm typing I can only have one elbow touching the arm rest. I guess the idea of it being a gaming chair is that you have one hand on keyboard and one on mouse most of the time. I did not really figure it meant anything other than being some marketing gimmick. I just liked the look of the chair and it was comfortable.

I'll have to see if I can get used to it I guess. I don't know if you can return something like that unless I was to completely disassemble it again.
 
One of the batteries in my big UPS seems to have a bad cell. It's from 2012 so not really that old. I caught it on time, but kinda sucks that they die out so quickly. It does not bode well with my plan of going with a 48v system, as they only make a battery model for so long before they change it, so if I get one bad battery I end up having to switch out the whole string. I plan to use higher quality batteries when I go that route though so hopefully I won't get defect cells. This is my 2nd time having this happen. The 1st time I did not catch it on time and it ended up going into thermal run away.

Since all the other cells are fine and it's just the 1st cell, I will try to see if I can somehow revive it, need to google that. I have a feeling there is not much hope though, it's probably the plates themselves that went bad or something.

Doctor refused to give me a long-lasting lidocaine.
Cant eat.
Probably gonna starve before my appointment tomorrow.
 
Assholes from other neighborhoods keep driving trash over to our dumpsters. The things are overfilling and garbage is tossed all around the streets.

The HOA finally got fed up and decided to give everyone on the street private bins, which are much less convenient overall but solve the problem, in a way.
Now I've got to remember that on Wed. morning we have to get up early and take the bin from the back yard to the front yard, and take it in immediately upon getting home from school.

The HOA in other neighborhoods reams people for leaving the bins out too early or too late.
