I saw a bumper sticker on the way to work that read "Beat the 5 p.m. rush, go home at noon." I immediately had a tremendous erg to turn around and drive home. But no, I came into work and I will be on teleconferences from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.

I changed the bird juice after reading your post. Hopefully they'll come back, but I've never had a lot. Can't really afford to lose any, and still get visitors.

It's super wet and gloomy outside and shows no signs of ending. Over 70mm of rain have fell already with more on the way. Good news is I seem to have done a good job on my shed shingles. Went to check and it's not leaking.

After I saw the one, pulled down #2 this evening so I could re fill. It had been up for several weeks. Then I see a bird grousing around that spot before I could put it back. Choicy bastards, they are.

And I think their lifespan is 3 years or so...so...

Just saw one! I've been putting a feeder up off and on for 15 years. The most birds I've seen at one time was three. Clearly it's not the same birds, but they never increase or decrease. I'm stable at 2-3 birds.

Went to the dentist to get my teeth cleaned yesterday afternoon.

(I'm terrible at flossing,so they nagged me about that the entire time...)

My teeth are still senstive this morning, and they hurt.

Rather grumpy right now.

There don't appear to be any non-stop flights from Saint Louis to New Orleans, which I find strange.

The remnants of Hurricane Bud are passing through bringing the best rain we've had in eleven months. :) It's really screwing up my hiking plans. :( In my heart I know the desert desperately needs the rain but how do people stand this dark, gloomy crap? On the plus side, the oak trees and creosote smell great. But gray and gloomy… seasonal depression from four hours without sunshine.

It's way too hot and we had no Spring. It went from snowing to highs in the 90s and it hasn't stopped since May.

Sun came out. 0.85" rain so far, not bad.

We got over 80mm of rain the other day. Thankfully it only lasted the one day. When it rains here it tends to just drag on for weeks.

Today it's super hot though, like around 25C. I should start on my shed siding but have other stuff to do around the house so think today will be a lazy day. I can't believe my 2 weeks off is already half way done though.

Did laundry this morning, and hung it outside. I just fetched the dry laundry, and ants took up residence in my bdu pockets. There were eggs and everything in there! How the fuck does that happen in nine hours?!

Aliens, of course.

We've had a pretty decent spring for the last couple of years. Not too hot and decent rain. 93 today, I can live with that. The wife and I got married in the middle of May, 1996...105 degrees. Hell wasn't freezing over that day. It was escaping.:D

It's been raining its ass off here. The rain's finally chilled out the last few days, I still have holes from my fallen tree that are muddy. Generally speaking, spring has been relatively cool here the last few years. That's awesome! The bad part is summer lingers way longer than it used to, and winter doesn't get as cold. I think I like the old days better. There was more localized misery, but it evened out overall. I'll take a hotter spring for an early fall, and a real winter.

My media PC is locking up at the Windows 7 install screen every time. It's hot and I'm frustrated.

We definitely have had milder winters. 2 years in a row, shit starts blooming and then we get 18 degrees in March. Bam, peaches and blueberries take a hit.

My blueberries are looking good this year. Same with the wineberries. Last year was a bust. Not sure what the difference is. I'm a laissez faire gardener, and don't pay close attention. Noticed my cherry tree is dead dead. Not a single bit of green. I'll take it down this fall, and burn it before I get into the oak. I have a weeping cherry out front that's clinging on for dear life. It doesn't know its dead yet. I'll leave it til there's no green left. My daughter really liked that tree. I leave it up... in her honor I guess. Don't see her much anymore. She's busy with school, work, and whatever. I don't give too many fucks about anything anymore. A friend of mine came by a few weeks ago. He said he laughed when he came up to my place. he was driving past manicured lots, then sees the wall of green at my place. That's the way I like it. My green cloak that blocks out the world. If I didn't grow up here, I'd GTFO, and find some place more to my liking. As it is, I make due with what I've got.

edit:
One of the few things I planted; a lavender plant, got squished when my oak came down this year. I was looking forward to seeing what it would do too :^/ I might do the whole back hill in lavender so I don't have to mow it. That'll have to wait til I'm finished with the tree. I also have an apple seedling I want to put in the ground somewhere. I was getting pink lady apples from aldi last year that had sprouted seeds in the middle. I have one that took off, and I need to get in the ground. The persimmons I started didn't make it through the winter :^( The three trees I really want are persimmon, pawpaw, and river birch. I wouldn't mind chestnut either. If I were younger, I'd make this lot look like an eastern hardwood forest, with lots of oak and beech. I'll never see them do anything at this point though :^/

Made some vegetable curry, and went a little heavy on the scorpion sauce. Not sure if this is a problem or not. Guess I'll find out in a few hours :^D I also wish I had rice. I have a 15# bag, but didn't feel like cooking it :^/
