My apartment gave us champagne for the holidays and I drank a glass. Everything is all weird and fuzzy at this point. I guess I'm a lightweight. At least I'm not as aggravated by the neighbors' constant bass pounding.

I keep seeing Israel Bond ad on ATOT. I don't even buy Canada Savings Bond, why would I buy Israel Bond?

The lumber dick in the apartment above was dragging furniture across his bare wooden floors all night and I replied banging my hockey stick on the ceiling, bang bang bang. All night was a stream of F+++ yous.
Happy New bang bang bang.

I'm getting that one a lot too except not on AT. Some developer declared bankruptcy in 2016, think they sold a bunch of bonds in Israel like a year or less before that. So, can't raise money in Canada or the U.S., go to Israel?

I finally decided to stop being lazy and shoveled my driveway, only a few inches of snow so just shoveled it to the middle then snow blow it in the the yard. The garage door was frozen from the freezing rain we had around Christmas time, so I had to squeeze the snowblower through the man door.

Two weeks ago the washing machine died. Now the fridge is dying.
We ordered a new fridge today. It is supposed to be installed tomorrow. To accommodate the removal of the old and install of the new, we relocated the cat tower temporarily. Our blind cat is not happy. :( :D

^Up yours, unplanned appliance and electronics deaths. Just blew $200 on a new video card this past week. Some other part, my TV, cable box, or whatever could drop dead at any time...

And I'm watching the new Sherlock but they haven't done much dynamic compression on the sound.

The weather is sucky here today and yesterday, drizzling and fogging so driving was not fun. Hopefully, it will be sunny tomorrow so I can do some work and clean up outside.

I was forwarded this email this morning...

draftsman,

Can you ask lxskllr if he can "clean up" my computer. It is running really slow. Email me back when you talk to him and have him call me and let me know when he can do it if he can.

Sigh... I don't enjoy this work like I used to, and I especially don't enjoy working on windows.

This'll probably interfere with my rain day fuckoff time tomorrow, and I'll be playing with Ye Olde Box O'Surprises. Virus? Failing hd? Windows being retarded? The joyful possibilities are virtually endless...

I guess I'll be spending the day gathering tools, and trying to remember how to deal with windows...

It is still drizzly raining and dark outside. So much for my plan to clean up outside and do some work.

Back to inside and do some other tasks.

Hopefully it's not a windows 8 machine. Those are brutal to work with.

i don't seem to get asked to look at computers much anymore, which is nice.

I'm waiting for a food delivery that's been pushed back three times so, I can go home. I'm not sure double time is worth it.

I already know it's xp, and the user isn't especially savvy. We deal with .asc files. It's simply a text file with a .asc extension. He can't open those cause windows is retarded, and won't identify the file type without a .txt extension, so that's what the draftsman sends him. No one ever right clicked and did an 'open with'...

I see/hear so much stupid shit around the office. It's like working with a bunch of children, where shit somehow gets done, but it's through the most convoluted method possible. I can't even get a straight answer as to what they're trying to do, so I can't advise a better method. Nobody ever thinks "This is really stupid. This can't be how the devs wrote this, and there's got to be a better way", then finding the better way. Something kinda sorta works, and they roll with it.

Holy shit, I could go on and on, but I'd end up with ptsd D^:

My skin feels dry as shit. And it's the last day of the holidays so everything is still shut down. I need shit to be open to get some stuff done.
