Tried the lunch special at a new Chinese restaurant.
their dinner food was really good.

$6 shrimp with veggies. includes rice + egg roll.
tasted great but it was white rice. no fried rice option. :(
I cant eat plain white rice.

so basically a small order of shrimp/veggies and got a free egg roll.

my goto Chinese restaurant has pork fried rice with their lunch specials plus wonton soup for the same price.
I prefer the soup over the egg roll but their food in general doesn't stand out like the other restaurant.

so im basically paying extra for better tasting food.
no bargain here. just standard real world choices.
meh @ cant have my cake and eat it too

I received an Apple Watch for the holidays. I love it, but I cannot find a flashlight app that uses the watch screen as the flashlight (lots of apps that use the watch as a remote for your iPhone LED/screen).

I had to resort to setting my primary photos app picture to a blank white background and use that as a flashlight.

So I have been inside the house all day so I decided to drive around for some fresh air about 1 hour ago. Traffic was light but not dead. All of the fast food joins were closed (McD, KFC, Taco Bell, etc.) and regular sit down places (Chilli's, Red Lobster) but a chinese buffet place and Waffle House were opened and look like they were doing well from all the cars in the parking lot. Most of the gas stations were opened too. I got a cold drink and went home and heat up a can of soup and be ready for the food ball between KC and Denver.

I received HTC Vive as Christmas gift from my business partner but I have no interest in it or VR in general. I don't really game anymore, and I have to buy a new videocard in order to use it. But I don't want to keep it if I'm not going to use it but I don't want to hurt his feeling by getting rid of his gift.

This is serious guys. Got home from a nice chill Christmas day with some family. Now I'm trying to watch the new season of Top Chef Episode 1 from bravotv's website and the video is............................get this......................stuttering every minute or so. I can't watch this crap like that. I dunno if it's FIOS or Bravo but I haven't had this problem in this apartment with FIOS before. And I got 99 problems but FIOS ain't been one.

What is everyone at their families still streaming movies and high rez pron taking away my bandwidth? COME ON SANTA YOU CHUBBY FUCK~

Speaking of streaming TV, I heard that my cable TV provider may finally have IP/internet based TV in 2018.... Like half a decade after its main competitor.

Must be the holidays... This place is deader than dead, and it looks like P&N has bled over because that place is even more dead.

My mother gave me some really nice warm gloves, and I have a porchful of firewood. Looking at the forecast as far as noaa goes, it's warm weather as far as the eye can see. I feel like I'm living in a third world hellhole. Another winter ruined :'^(

Bought a new Dell Latitude E5250 Laptop (intel i3-4030U aka Haswell) for $189 in nov to replace my 2010 laptop who's battery no longer charges.

I figure why spend $ (ie: new battery) on obsolete tech?
use that $ towards a newer tech.
and $189+tax is a great bargain for a new i3.

Plan was to immediately format/install Win10.
it's now xmas and Still sitting in the box.

apparently, having my old laptop always plugged in isn't as aggravating as I thought.

knowing myself, I just wasted $200 because it's going to sit in that box till something makes me upgrade to it.

Yesterday it was the warmest Christmas ever (upper 70's). Today it is in the mid to low 70's and I will be in short and T-shirt and head out to get some bargains and use up the gift cards so I will see y'all later.

Think my video card is crapping out. Screen starts going fuzzy/crazy like once a day over the past few days. It's a 5 year old card but still, I got this one to replace another AMD card that was only a year or two old and had major problems. Going Nvidia next. Will probably cheap out on an Nvidia 1050. Really not in the mood to open up my system. Fuq.

We got some freezing rain and high winds throughout the day. Probably going to be super busy at work with power outages and crap. It's a stat today so it's going to be hard trying to even find techs to dispatch.

That is easy, send a paddy wagon to BestBuy. They are moonlighting as security.

Dude changing out a video card is like the easiest thing in the world for system builders.

I know, I did it like 5 times in the past few years to do a clean out, swap out my CMOS battery, move cables, move an HDD, etc. Still don't feel like it.

turned out to not be busy which is nice. Had a call from a tech asking if there was any calls for cable TV in a region because he noticed the channels were not working well including the hockey game. Surprised no one called. He went out to clear the dish of ice. Should be good to go. :D
