Ouch. What industry are you in and where do you live?

Not much of an industry I'm afraid, front desk at a small museum. It paid minimum wage but it was all I had. What hurts is that it was for something completely out of my control.

It's difficult finding work when you're trans. Personally I'd rather go back to college and get a degree in IT or something valuable, but I used up my grants on getting a degree in Graphic Design which was the biggest regret of my life outside of not transitioning sooner.

That's life.

My ass feels like it's in heaven... The cushion I ordered finally arrived. It's polyurethane but I can't smell any off-gassing which is nice. The original cushion on my chair flattened after a couple years of continuous use and I didn't feel like buying a new one.

I have to work tomorrow, and help my boss remove a bunch of super silt fence. It'll be ~5 hours of work, and I'll get $1.7k, but I don't even care about money. I'll just add it to the pile, and wish I'd spent the day staring at the wall as usual.

Supposed to be mid 60s again. This fall really sucks. My boss is a pansy, and waiting til Sunday when the weather's reasonable(mid 40s) will break his delicate constitution :^D

In the past two months, I've only blown $100 on discretionary stuff if you don't count my retarded phone bill, cable, and internet. I am not a good consumer economy member.

Ah, silt fencing. The few times I went out inspecting that stuff the contractors decided that gaps between the ground and fence was okay.

Suppose to be a huge winter storm in one of the general areas we monitor. Probably going to be a busy night.

On the plus side, we don't do the dispatching for that area anymore so all I really have to do is make a ticket and send it. But I still have a feeling I'll be dealing with coordinating generators and stuff. Most of the techs in that area are retired so when you try to call someone out you just piss off somebody who does not work there anymore. They don't update the list, and they don't replace techs who retire. Pain in the ass.

It was raining dog and cat in the afternoon and now the temperature is down at least 20 degree lower (from 80s' to 60's within a couple hours). Tomorrow low will be around the low 40's, upper 30s. Finally fall/winter weather.

Another thing, a moron sat at the stop sign to turn left but he/she was too dumb to pull over to the left side so the people that want to turn right could do so. We all did have to wait a few minutes because of the moron.

Well that storm is hitting pretty hard. Going to be a busy night I think. Got a couple sites without power already some of the ETAs are like 6pm tomorrow. Most of them have decent battery reserve though. Like 24+ hours.

Ah, yes, I remember the days. Even with an 80 Mbps down work connection, I resorted to trying to scroll my screen as little as possible so it wouldn't take a minute to reload the ortho.
My work GIS is still that way. Someone thought we could increase efficiency by centrally hosting our data layers two states away. One server should be able to handle 5,000 users, right? I use Google Earth a lot more than our ridiculously expensive GIS these days.

Preordered the new Pokemon game from Amazon. They shipped it the other day via Amazon delivery, which is new around here. I've seen the vans around too - generic white vans with little Amazon logo magnets on the side. So I kinda have to assume independent contractors, since everybody uses subcontractors and it always works out for the best...

So obviously I didn't get it yesterday like they said they would, although the UPS and Mail guy both had time to stop by. So if they'd shipped it normal I'd have it already. New delivery date is Monday. Maybe I'll get some free Prime out of this.

GIS gets really poorly handled because a lot of places are just so happy to have anything that they don't appreciate the difference in a quality system and barely usable one.

After pulling silt fence, I went to the farm market, but they were out of winesap apples. I guess that's it for the year :^(

I did get some 4x salsa that's pretty good. I've gotten hot sauce from the same maker, and they use sugar in both. I'd prefer no sugar.

One day later and I'm not satisfied with my ass cushion. It was only $15 but I paid $5 for shipping:(. Think I'm going to get a towel or $10 cushion from Ikea. I have no health issues and thought a donut cushion would be comfortable regardless...

You are in luck as it is Saturday evening. Go find a Catholic church, go to mass, and grab a handful of wafers. Add salt and free saltine's!

What you want is a wheelchair cushion. They come in various sizes but don't skimp. Give yourself some margin. You don't want your but hanging over the edges.

I can highly recommend this one that I've had since July or so - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B002VWJZJM

It has a bit of a memory which, depending on how you like to sit can be annoying but for the most part it works out pretty well. I tend to slouch so the memory impression that develops is the slouch posture. When I want to sit up straight, the memory impression gradually coaxes me back into the slouch position. If it gets really annoying, I just turn the cushion around though.

^That one's $60 here. If it's comfortable, it'd be worth it, but I just want to screws in my chair to stop poking me before dumping the chair in a year or two.

Edit: And I went full retard by pouring rum into one glass and pouring from the glass into another glass so I wouldn't have to open the bottle again. Lost a few drops of my 90 proof rum transferring between glasses. Sigh,

Looks like my drunk ass is very interested in Sichuan hot pot. And drunk googling myself: I have one of the most common names out there. Many matches within my city alone. What the hell. In contrast, my fake Craigslist name only has a quarter or less as many matches on the Facebook.
