I hear you, most other payment methods are now widespread enough. The only convenience I now see with paypal is their 6 months 0 interest thing.
 
I unlinked my bank account from PP after my last transfer into it just in case something like that happened. Then my bank has to fire 5,300 employees for fraudulent activity to raise their pay for performance rates..
 
You know with the pay for performance plans that many employers are using these days low paid workers look for any possibility to raise their take. At Wells Fargo thousands of them participated in creating fraudulent accounts for legitimate customers so they could take credit for the additional business. In the end it cost the bank a $100 million fine and their jobs.

Did they really create the accounts or were they just done in the background system?

If they were actually created, I'm wondering how so many people didn't notice the extra sections in their online banking page or bank statements...

They want to continue to extract money from customers through value added services rather than win new customers to generate additional revenue.

I want to clear out a box of toys from ~1990. They appear to be worth ~$10 a piece on eBay, but I don't feel like dealing with shipping/selling. Hope I can find some local guy who will buy it off me at a huge discount and deal with the bullshit himself.
 
Newegg can go fuck itself. I ordered an SLI bridge on Tuesday, before I even started looking for a deal on a second GPU. Their warehouse is <200 miles away. On Thursday, I found a deal on a used 980ti, it got here this morning. And just realized I missed an opportunity to make a joke on 404th page of this thread.

I've got a BB 5 minutes away but they don't have SLI bridges unless you buy a SLI mobo or a GPU. Microcenter is probably a longer drive than the newegg warehouse, I guess I'll go pick it up now. Watch me come home with the wrong sized bridge.

Can you sell the toys as a lot on ebay? Do they have a similar theme or can you at least argue that they're related in some way? If even one is collectible you can get someone to buy the whole lot for that one toy.

Not to sound paranoid, but you might want to check for recalls. I used to sell toys on ebay but individually and ebay would catch the ones that had recalls. Like for example there was this one with a fairy that would launch from a stand and then the wings would pop out and it would spin and hover to the ground. But it was hard plastic and launched with some force so needless to say there was a recall on it.

That isn't a bad idea. They're Ninja Turtles and early 1990s movies toys.

But ya, that recall thing. I'm mainly concerned about lead paint on the toys -- they should be collectibles so shouldn't matter. One or two of them are also "melting" -- sticky to the touch, I think the plasticizer or whatever is bleeding out. In contrast, all my Lego held up great for 20+ years.
 
recalls should be worth more but you have liability issues plus ebay won't let you list them. It's be fine if you could limit buyers to collectors but you know some idiot will buy a bad toy and give it to their kid.

I went to the grocery store and forgot to get my parking validated until I was back in my car backing out of the parking space to leave. At that point I decided f**** it, I'm not going back into the store to get it validated. I was parked for 30 minutes and when I got to the exit it was $6. 😡
 
FML. Just spent more than an hour looking for recall notices for the shit I've sold on Craigslist -- I didn't knowingly sell anything that had been recalled. Checked U.S. and Canada's guberment databases. Got lucky, only one hit, and it was outside the serial number range -- for a fucking camera of all things, and not the inner workings of the camera, some stupid rubber on the shell.
 
My Aerohive HiveAP 340 uses RC4 and well RC4 has been taken out to the back and shot. so I had to go into about:config to make my browser less secure.
 
Speaking of Tom Cruise I can't wait until the new Jack Reacher movie comes out. It's probably the only one that has excited me this year then again it does reflect favorable on the MP Corps.
 
Paying for parking at a grocery store would be a problem for me.

Mine at the moment is I still do not not have a robotic cooking/sex droid.

Beside the potential liability, you would be violating federal law.
If it is determined that you are selling products that violate the provisions of the CPSIA, then you can be penalized by the federal government for doing so. The penalty for selling recalled or prohibited products can be severe. The law imposes $100,000 to $15,000,000.00 fines of individuals or companies violating the law. Normally, these fines are reserved for small to large businesses.

*shudders* Looked up a few more random things I sold almost 10 years ago on Craigslist. Found out one of my old cell phones that I never bothered to sell may have been recalled because it was microwaving heads too quickly -- not sure if right model but looks similar.

Good thing I "lost" that phone -- in a jacket pocket -- and stopped using it early. Meanwhile, my 6 year old Samsung still works.

Speaking of Samsung... why isn't the Note 7 recall showing up on the CPSC website...

Edit: Answered my own question, the Note 7 is a "global replacement program."
