Don't those create crazy drag and fuxxorz fuel efficiency?
The way I drive takes care of my fuel economy. It's a fun little car and I love to wind it up. 0-60 in under 7 seconds isn't a big deal but it's the most fun I've ever had driving. That's pretty sad when you think about it. :(

Anyway, I assume that these things are removable. I guess we'll see how much effort is involved in installing them.

A reminder to myself to not doubt my instincts: someone had defrosted lamb and was marinating it, and the smell was horrible/putrid, I made a mental note not to eat it. The person kept preparing it like it was good to eat. Fast forward a few hours to just before cooking, the meat was completely discolored.

Marinating will discolor the meat. Any other reasons to think it was spoiled? I mean do you know what unspoiled lamb smells like?

I've been around meat long enough to know what spoiled meat smells like -- and how being able to smell it across the room isn't normal.

I didn't see the discoloration, but person who prepared it said it turned blue -- person had done it more than a few dozen times with the same cut of meat using the same method before.

Blue is a new one on me. Tell him to stop marinating in Windex. :D

This is good... The person who prepared the spoiled meat is now paranoid about poisonous, super-toxic meat so has to boil water to "disinfect" the sink -- person just threw out the metal containers the meat sat in.

Funny, because the person used bare hands to prepare the meat but I don't think there are any plans to boil any hands.

I'm not a professional health and safety person, but I'd just wash everything with soap twice.

The county fair is this week. The fair grounds are out past the edge of town, at my freeway exit. Morons who only drive on the freeway this one time of year are out in force. They seem to think the freeway is one long fair entrance drive so they drive real slow starting about five miles from the freeway exit. The volume of traffic does not warrant any slowing. I have to drive past the fair grounds to get home. Fairs should be banned. People too dumb to drive on a freeway should not be trusted with cotton candy, they might put an eye out.

So was food poisoning enjoyed by all? D:

****

I found out that if I replace my '07 Ford Focus with a 2014 Accord V6 Coupe, my car insurance payments will only go up about $5/month. So I am having a hard time convincing myself not to go car shopping this weekend...

According to this, we'll find out within a week...

http://healthywa.wa.gov.au/Articles/F_I/Food-poisoning

I'm not too worried. Double-soaping with rinsing would probably physically remove most of the bad stuff, and 99% of the stuff put in the containers/sink got cooked before serving. Worst case should be food poisoning, and I'm healthy with health insurance. A chlorine solution to disinfect would have been safer. Everything contaminated was relatively non-porous steel.

Bla bla bla, not a doctor or professional, don't do what I do.

This French wine I'm drinking is $10/bottle in US but $20/glass in Mumbai. I feel a tang of guilt for blowing out my per diem today but fuck it.

I'm taking employer required defensive driving. The class is designed such that I can't just click through. :( At least I'm getting paid to do it. :)

Edit: It's like the class was designed by Casey Kasem. Each slide, has a few words with, dramatic pauses, requiring lots of clicks, to proceed.

I don't do drugs but this class....

Put a ssd in my work machine, and needed to clone my old drive to it. Couldn't see the drive in PartedMagic, and rebooted 4 times before I figured out I had the sata ports turned off in bios :^S

Cloned the drive, but for some reason it didn't clone /root. Had to copy it over in gparted. Tokk all the old crap out, rebooted lightning quick, and everything was wonderful til I tried accessing the network shares... Prompts for credentials(never did that before). After futzing with it awhile, I figured out what it was asking me. I updated samba earlier this week or last week, and didn't reboot. I guess the change in samba is why it was asking for credentials now.

The whole process took longer than expected. Gotta do the draftsman's machine this weekend. Hope it goes smoother...

My $100+ USB drive -- I paid $40 -- finally arrived. Holy shit, what is this? Transfer rate of 30 MB/s and up? It may even be faster than my external hard drive. It is technically USB 3, but all my ports are USB 2, so that's even better. Now I feel stupid for using my poverty old, cheap USB drives that only did 10 MB/s or less -- more like 5 MB/s or less oftem...

Twas watching a story on the news about electronics recycling locally. People are in a plant talking in front of electronic parts being ground-up... It's like, PUT A MASK ON!!!

Jesus, I thought they weren't aware of the toxic shit, but then they start talking about all the toxic shit found in them. Even the workers didn't appear to be wearing masks, some had crappy N95 or lesser masks.

Edit: Well, it happened again, some fucktard almost killed me with the stove again. Just spent the last hour breathing in smoke.

Fucking idiot decided to put something on the stove and then take a nap. Don't worry, the person woke up when the kitchen filled up with smoke and the fire alarm went off -- timers and alarm clocks are for losers. It's not like I told the person before that falling asleep while cooking would lead to this a bunch of times.

Anyway, I'm the asshole and I was wrong because I got mad that I inhaled smoke for an hour due to some fucktard's recklessness. The person didn't do anything wrong, but I shouldn't tell the neighbors with kids next door who share a wall that they almost died in a fire again because their neighbors are retarded.

Total bummer today - dropped my Alcatel Idol. It only dropped about a foot and it virtually shredded the screen. It's like it imploded. You'd think I dropped it from a great height. So I had to order a new phone. Got a Kyocera Hydro. A lot cheaper. Oh, and this time I bought a case.

Gotta drive 20 minutes out of my way to go buy a Specialized Crosstrail. Then drive back and probably be delayed by traffic for like 5 minutes. Woe is me.

Oh yeah, my Sigma 150-600mm lens got delivered today. But I didn't bring my camera in so I could play stalker with it while at work.

100k people in the US get salmonella from eggs/poultry each year.

I thought it was the Kraft Dinner I had for lunch... but I rechecked digestion times and it's 24-72 hours, not 6-8 hours -- that's just to get through the short intestines, apparently.

I had eggs Saturday... fried chicken Sunday.

The vending machine in the engineering office only had strawberry Pop Tarts this morning. I really wanted cinnamon and brown sugar but that would have required me making a walk into the shop to visit a different vending machine. I settle for the clearly inferior strawberry. This all started because I left my oatmeal in the fridge at home.
