It's funny you should mention this because I had what I believed to be the same issue this weekend with a container of beef broth.

The plastic cap on these containers actually removes the foil seal when you open it. The fine writing on the container points this out.

If it was one that has the flip up lever style cap then for sure yours was defective.

I'm going to Wal-Mart in a bit... I'll have to check another box for a note, but the foil seal was pushed into the container. The plastic cap was a screw-off type.

Edit: Other problem. Looks like I will probably need a car within the next year. I hate the 2010 Civic I drove forever, but looks like I can get a 2010 to 2013 Civic with ~100k kilometers or less for $8k. The Prius I want is about $14k for similar, and 100k kilometers is about what the battery is guaranteed to.

Our upgrade to business class to Australia cleared. Unfortunately the best two remaining seats are backwards facing at the back of business class That means that cattle class might be allowed to gaze upon one of us (their betters) with their dumb jealous faces until the curtain is closed

Jeeeeeeeeeeeeeezz... I went to the store and looked at chicken broth containers similar to the one I threw out. They mentioned that the cap would perforate or cut the foil. Googling showed that there were quite a few people with similar concerns, and they returned theirs. They've been around for years now, apparently. I rarely use broth so didn't know.

It's been plastic locked cap + pull seal my entire life...

whats the point of the foil then if the cap does that?

Not flying Emirates on my next business trip because the uber-boss who is coming with for the first time doesn't like the way they treat women.

Lately I'm just sick of all food. Wife feels the same.

Dinner just feels like a hassle. We both wish somehow how body just didn't crave dinner.

It's to a point where we don't even particularly crave anything when eating out / getting take out.

Do I have it wrong from commercials or does that airline mainly hire white flight staff?

a surprisingly multi-cultural staff, 90% women, usually above average attractiveness. Last go-round my primary FA was a syrian guy who was originally from LA who moved to Dubai for work.

My new phone doesn't fit very well in the pocket of my skinny jeans when I'm riding my bike. Worried it might fall out.

Tracfone:
I used ~200 minutes of cellphone time over the past year, so roughly 800 left. I was on the last day of service.
Go online, get the lowest minutes with the longest service time.
Get the web-only option to add another year of service time for half price. Do it.

Phone updates to show new minutes and service time.
>1800 minutes.
....wat.
"Oh, I remember now." My original service plan was for double minutes. Oh the horror. And there was a bonus-minutes as part of the addon, which evidently was doubled too.

Their offerings did at least serve to reduce my cell service down to around $5.50/month though.

You need to train everyone to use email. I quit using a phone a few years ago, and only have one for work. Only work people call me now. All my old contacts still use email. It's great. If/when I quit work, I might just keep the smartphone, but don't buy service for it. It'll be a 5" tablet.

Got too drunk last night, got back too late, had to pack for vacation on 3 hrs of sleep this morning. Made the train on time, but might die sitting at the gate at JFK. Will the bar be open before 9??? I need a Bloody. It's the only answer to this.

It has been raining dogs and cats since yesterday and we have idiots drive around without lights being on.

It will continue to rain at least until tomorrow. More floodings, yike.

Moving and can't decide between Comcrap 150mbps or 2gbps for 3x the price. It's more than 3x the speed, so maybe it's a deal. Also, more than Google Fiber, which didn't come to Chicago.

It's a flip-phone. Typing anything more than a few characters is somewhat arduous.

And I already get frustrated with my fingers limiting out at around 100WPM on a conventional keyboard. Brain speed vs finger speed is like SSD vs floppy disk. Typing on a tiny screen....my emails will probably become exceedingly terse in a hurry. (I'm also oldschool: I don't care for the disclaimers of "I'm on my phone, so excuse my horrendously terrible tying in this email. Good luck deciphering it." If you're going to do something, do it correctly and completely.)
Add to that the challenge of touchscreen typing. Puke. When/if they make a touchscreen that can change shape for some degree of tactile feedback, maybe then it'll be reasonable. I've got a big Windows tablet with a 13.3" widescreen, and tying on the onscreen keyboard on that is sluggish and error-prone.

But yes, I do generally prefer email, especially at work. Email naturally forms a nice record of what's been discussed, and it can be searched easily in the future.

Probably half of those minutes were for work too.
I mainly have the phone for 911 service, or if I would happen to need to make a call to report no Internet service, or if Skype craps its pants, hence my eventual focus on getting a good annual rate for basic availability rather than more minutes.
It's actually served as an alarm clock for far more of its life than it has as a phone.
