I'm in Germany for work. Got a nice Mercedes rental car but the navigation has no English option. I know enough to muddle through it, but that's about it.

I do that on my phone sometimes. I like hearing different languages. Btw, you could use your phone.

Had to pay US$1.519/gallon for regular gasoline. Being so cheap I had to continue with my wallet being fat.

Left thumb is very sore from hours of xbox one gameplay on the destiny kings fall raid last night.

Also, free coffee was out in the first floor breakroom at work. Had to walk up a flight of stairs to mingle with the developer peasants and steal their coffee.

I tried to use my phone. Can't get Google Maps to work. I've been here enough that I am OK with it, but I can also get lost like nobody else, so English is preferred if not necessary.

Still got a few days until my next credit card billing cycle... Then I can buy some shit I want. It's not that I can't afford it, it's just how I force myself to stick to my stupidly low budget.

The other day I bought a 10 litre gas jerry can so I can put 10 litres of premium ethanol free gas and fuel preserver for the snow blower. The preserver is sized for 10litre so that's why I bought the new can, just easier. Today I finally ran out of the old fuel so I went to fuel up the snow blower, only to realize that this new jerry can has a completely useless spigot. It has some kind of locking mechanism that does not seem to work worth a crap so gas wont come out. It's a totally botched design. So I had to use the spigot from the other jerry can. This forces me to have to mod this new one which requires me to get the dremel out. I'll do that another day.

Seriously though, why do that? It's more complicated than it has to be, it even has springs and stuff. Way to over complicate something that should be a simple piece of plastic.

On other note, I find premium gas does not smell as good as regular.

I turned off the anti-shake thing on my camera because I just discovered it and didn't want it screwing up my shots... why are all my videos so damn shaky?

Turned it back on...

lol if it's like the new crap I've had to put up with, eff it. With the new plastic/locking/eff your Mom/enviro safe system I've had to deal with, I have put more gallons on the ground than in the mower/generator. The plastic POS on the 5G can broke after 1 Y. Same for the 1 gal can. I just hope that I'm causing someone at the EPA to have a stroke.

It's because idiots douse themselves with gasoline while trying to throw it on a fire, then the flame follows the spill trail and lights the idiot on fire (problem?).

So they make a can that prevents idiots from throwing gasoline on a fire, ensuring that we all douse ourselves with gasoline while trying to use it correctly.

They're all like that now. A federal regulation screwed it up. I think it was because people would try to "throw" gasoline on the fire from the spout and they'd end up flinging fiery gas all over. I recall reading that the regs very quickly put one of the largest manufacturers out of business. Some manufacturers continue to sell the old models as "water cans" but it's illegal to put fuel in them. Perhaps you can switch the caps?

I wonder if people drive their snow blowers/mowers to the gas station to fill up... No one has one in my hood and I've never hung out around gas stations enough to see.

I thought it was so I didn't pour any on the ground or some such. Now I'm using a 5g can to pour into my push mower without the broken nozzle.

Yeah it looks similar to that. Definitely going to have to mod that shit.

I keep getting French ads showing up. Probably because my French sucks and I look up words often.

And not sure if I want a circular pie baking pan or a circular cake baking pan. One has the curved edge, one doesn't. Do I want the curve... They're like the same price.

That's not a good idea. Even if you empty the can there are going to flammable fumes that will ignite from the sparks coming off the dremel. And even if you don't go fast enough to generate sparks, you could still easily hit the flash point of the vapors.

This is like trying to solder a gas tank in a car. Not quite on the same scale but still a very bad idea.

edit: what you really want is something like this - http://www.amazon.com/Justrite-AccuFlow-Galvanized-Flexible-Capacity/dp/B003PGRR48/ref=pd_sim_328_1?ie=UTF8&dpID=41QMEHowD1L&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=0NQWGEYCAK37GB6KYK8J. Pricey but worth it in the long run. You won't get any vapors coming out of the can with the spring loaded cap. And since there's no way for air to get inside, your gas should last longer.

Nope, sorry, the safety nazis banned those. We bought those per previous safety nazi instructions only to be told that they were no longer allowed and that we were terrible people. Gotta have rollbars to roll in this town. Meet the new boss...

I take it then that the "original" jerry can made of plastic, shaped like a rectangle, and made of plastic is illegal now...

Perhaps in the communist states of New Jersey and Canada. In Texas we put our gasoline in cleaned out milk-jugs.

I kind of like it. Put a piece of wood on top, and it'll make a nice seat for changing chainsaw blades.

It's illegal in Texas too. Look at the labels on the pump at the gas station and there are all kinds of warnings that it is illegal to us an unapproved container right around the warnings about not smoking, not allowing an unattended minor to fuel up (what? A 16yo can fill up his/her own car?), and keeping any fuel container on the ground during fill-up to dissipate static.
