Wiped down my cable box. Wiped it parallel to grill holes, hoped for the best (read: said, "fuck it") -- using tissues to wipe dust sucks. Didn't want Swiffer fibers to get caught in the grills.

Also, washed my cast iron loaf pan... I did a terrible job washing because I didn't want to scratch the seasoning. The cornbread I baked yesterday left a solid "water line." Didn't want to wash it again to avoid rusting -- paranoid about this due to lack of experience -- so I'll probably have to wash before using next time.

Have never even seen a cast iron loaf pan in my life, usually make corn bread in the skillet.

But that does sound first world :)

The other day I went to watch Sharknado 3 with a friend, and we kept commenting at how they seem to reuse lot of scenes from the first one, like the school bus, and the nice house, and the airport etc and fact that they were using the same bombs... Then we started second guessing if we were even watching the right one. Turns out I renamed the wrong file, and renamed 1 to 3, so we watched 1 again. We did end up watching 3 after though.

After directing traffic for two hours in snowy and cold conditions at a traffic accident I got yelled at for wearing a cold weather hat... And I was the shift supervisor.

I hope you didn't "went to" a place that required money to watch that.

Also, just remembered that one of my bank accounts is doubling the minimum balance amount to avoid monthly fees. I need $2k of dead money to avoid a ~$4/month fee. So, they're essentially charging $60/year for the pleasure of holding my money -- assuming they stick it in a 3%, 30 year Treasury Bond. More like lend it out for 5%...

No, I can't close it because I need an account at a major institution for the ATM network and extra services

Haha no, watched at home. Hence my screw up with the file renaming which led to watching the 1st one by accident. It had been a while since I saw it and I ended up watching the whole thing before realizing it WAS the first one, not that it was similar.

The 12pack of Sam Adams winter beer came with two Boston lagers. Those are the plain donuts in the multipack with powdered sugar and cinnamon. It's fine beer, but doesn't belong in a special seasonal pack.

Selling something on Craigslist. Person doesn't check email after 6pm, doesn't text message...

Also, while dealing with said Craigslist person, dropped my phone on the sidewalk. Added 4 big scrapes to it. That's drop number 15 or something from higher than 2 feet. Screen still isn't cracked, battery still hasn't exploded, and it still works. Swear to god, I'm getting a flip phone next as an "upgrade."

Why no case for your phone? You obviously need one. A thin TPU case like Incipio NGP black is enough protection for most people.

The phone was only $50 bought five years ago, so I didn't really care to spend $20 on a case. It's a Samsung phone that looks like a Blackberry with a keyboard. I could probably find an old Blackberry case to fit it... Battery is still good, unless I break it by dropping it again, I have no plans to ditch it. Ya, probably should buy a case.

Amazon deleted the contents of my cart... Or my browser did after 1 week. Aw, I had stuff I planned on buying in there. Now I have to look them up again.

In my point of view now poverty and terrorism are the most important problem in the world right now.

My latest computer build for a customer was the first in two respects: Skylake and Win10.

It has not gone well.

Problem #1 - the chassis arrived but had obviously been subject to a massive shock (all the rear plates had been bent out of kilter). Thankfully the supplier in question just got straight on with the job and sent out a replacement case free of charge without needing the other one back (they asked me to take a few pictures of the damage).

Problem #2: I'm sure someone else discovered this first, I may have read about it already and then forgotten about it, but Skylake 'K' retail CPUs don't come with heatsinks!! Luckily I arranged a Sunday delivery for a plain HSF.

Problem #3: Faulty RAM - Win10 setup bombed out in no time at all, claiming that it was having file I/O issues. I ran memtest86 (a few versions and variations, the 'plus' version, etc), sure enough, millionses of errors.

The replacement RAM has arrived, *hopefully* it'll be plain sailing from here, but if everything had gone to plan in the first place I would now be running tests on the new rig and playing about with Win10 in my own time.

Frustrating.

'Problematic firsts' seems to be an ongoing theme for me recently; I decided to stop using Corsair CX430 PSUs because of reliability issues, moving on to Seasonic 430ST PSUs. The first one I received failed within a week (different PC, about a month ago)! The ones I've bought since have been fine so far. Now the first DDR4 memory module as well.

My windshield wiper fluid is frozen. I guess Walmart must have saved about $.01 by putting fluid in during my last oil change that didn't have any antifreeze mixed in.

The scent of my cooking (Pasta sauce with brown rice, made from fresh vegetables and herbs) is present everywhere in my house. Makes me crave food again while i am full and satisfied. Anyway, i cooked for three days and if i eat again, i have to cook sooner... :(

Not with just two posts...

Huh? The whole point is that we can usually sniff them out on their first post. Both posts seem as useless and "desperately participatory" or forced as someone who just signed up with ulterior motives. If he's legit, then welcome. In that case it serves to show him just how critical we can be so he can avoid making his posts look like that.

Got a call from my dad today that the trail cam I got him for Christmas isn't working properly. Fortunately I got it off Amazon and the replacement will be here tomorrow. Unfortunately I don't live close by so he has to send me the broken one (paid out of his pocket) and I have to send him the replacement one (paid out of my pocket). At least Amazon provided the shipping label to return the busted one.......
