I was sitting at my kitchen computer next to the front door when my email pinged. Open the message up - "package has been delivered". Walk over to the door. Big package there. No deliveryman.

Ninjas :colbert:
Or drone. Probably looked in your windows too. Nekked pics of you won't be on the internet.

:p

Principally, the 1st world problem I woke up with today was the fact that I'm living in it. A lot of the time I almost pretend I don't. I don't watch much TV (news and sports is about it most of the time), get up at dawn, go to bed when I'm tired. Try not to run with the Jonses. I drive less than 1500 miles/year.

Had to mow lawn again. A friend is out of town, and I'm looking after his properties. A townhouse rental, and ~5 acres at his place. Did I ever mention how much I hate mowing lawn? Sigh...

My lawn is so small it doesn't bother me much. It's around 8' x 20', I use a push mower. I have a non-power edger which is a bit of a workout to use, but there's not much to my edges, so big deal. The longest it takes me to mow my lawn, edge it, sweep up the sidewalk is maybe 45 minutes. I do it maybe every 2-3 weeks, dump the trimmings in the compost pile.

Stop your bitching. I've mowed dirt/weeds for a crap ton of years. It's a pleasure to mow the grass and have my socks still be dirt free....or look like a tar baby.

Hold on, I'll come do it for you.

You've got a week to get here. My lawn will be ready next Monday, and my friend's around Tuesday. I have a piece of shit Deere at my place. I use a reel mower for the townhouse, and my friend has a nice Deere.

I'll have beer ready for you, or whisky if you prefer. I should be home from work by 5pm, but I can leave my tractor out front if you want to get started without me.

Thanks a ton. You're the best.

If you hate it so much, why not hire someone to do it? When I lived in a house, I paid $20 for the pro to do it each time I need to mow the lawn. Now it is included in the maint. agreement.

Eff no, you're the best. Probably should pay me after the job is done. Alcohol, the great de-motivator.

Is that the left or right side of the rainbow?

When I was in the Isle of Skye, I saw both ends....wait a minute...this isn't a scam to get me to do your in laws lawn too is it?

I'm also stubborn about not paying people to do things I can do myself. Life sucks, and some times suck more than others; like when I'm mowing lawn :^D

$20 is close to where I'd consider paying someone, but I highly doubt I could get anyone to do it for that. Maybe a kid, but I doubt it. It takes about 1.5 hours to do my lawn, and about 3 hours for my friend's places combined.

Always the right side.

I don't have inlaws anymore. Their property would have been fairly easy, except for the landmines. They had two Great Danes, and weren't diligent about picking up after them D^:

LXS, you're using a reel mower....HELLO....

The fact that my flip phone is 8 years old is irrelevant. I can still call, sitting on my ass.

Bet you'd re use fudge sickle sticks too.:colbert:

This is better than what usually happens to me:

Get home, package at door. No email or text saying it was delivered. 3 hours later... Email and text saying it was delivered.

Bwahahaha!

I have a small collection. I save them for when I need a flat piece of wood
for something. I collect bits of junk that have interesting shapes, aren't easy to acquire from the store, or don't take up much room.

So when's your episode of Pickers?

I admit that I do understand.

Is a rumor floating around they might be recalling me in the near future in the tool shop I was at after the limited layoff thing from a little bird.

I haven't even started looking yet, shouldn't rely on rumors I guess, but seems they might be missing me a bit...

See how it goes, I have a few people I haven't even talked to yet, have just been chilling out.

Probably need to look into other things actually.

Sounds good! Definitely look around though. You might find something even better.
