a week after signing a lease on a new apartment (and specifically waiting to look for a new apartment until hearing about this job offer one way or another), the company who told me that they were no longer filling the position after my 9 interviews is now calling again to see if I can come in /facepalm

the commute from the new place to their office would suuuck (either a 1-hour drive in major traffic to their Jersey office, or 1.5 hours via bus + subway into Manhattan), but it could potentially be a $50k raise :\

for a 50k raise you'd be commuting an extra 720 hours a year, so you'd make about $70/hr on the commute.
