Wasn't today, but last week I lost my $65 machete. I had made one pass over my traveled path, but it was full of tall weeds, and ditches. I was almost resigned to having to buy another, but made one more pass a couple days later and found it. The leather handle was under water, and there was only a few inches of black blade exposed. I almost overlooked it because it look like plastic road trash.

It was slimy when I pulled it out of the water. I had previously applied a lot of neatsfoot oil to the leather. Mixed with water, it felt gross. I got it dried out now, and the leather doesn't seem to have shrunk much. I'll re-oil it, and rig a catch on the sheath so it doesn't fall out again. Tragedy narrowly averted.

Jason never had these issues with his machete.

Neither did Machete.

We were going to have an all day staff meeting on Friday, so I thought it'd be a good day to use of my sick days since I put in my notice already... Then the guy organizing the lunch came by to ask what I wanted to order and I mentioned that I wasn't sure I'd be in on Friday. Now I HAVE to be in Friday... Mother.

On the other hand, what are they going to do, fire me? lulz.

It's this one...

The problem is the sheath. It closes with a bit of velcro, and a snap. It unsnapped when I slipped down a bank. I fixed it with a bit of paracord, and a toy biner. It won't fall out again. I use the above when I'm cutting mostly woody stuff, do fine cutting, or want to travel very light.

I use this when I really want to fuck some stuff up, or will be in a lot of briers...

I feel like some people don't understand this thread. "I lost my machete" is not a first world problem. "My landscaper got deported" is a first world problem.

I thought the fact it was a $65 machete made it first world. The third world uses machetes made out of old leaf springs, and stuff like that :^D

Got my two-way radios radio in the mail. The eBay listing said 1 set. He sent only one radio. So now I need to buy another. The eBay listing even showed two radios. I'm not sending it back as this is the only radio on eBay I wanted. It only cost me $62 and free shipping.

Tried to program the radio with a computer and the software was in Chinese. Saw a YouTube video with the same radio and a different programing software in English and it still won't read the radio. So I inquired on my radio forum about that. I can program it on the keypad on the radio though. I figured it out without the non-English manual. The radio sports scramble but when I turn it on it doesn't work which means I most likely have to enable the feature with the software.

FML... Got my bank account log-in locked. Haven't used it in a while and forgot the username -- so damn many to remember.

LOL! I argued about that in the hacked iCloud thread and got tons of flak. I mean really? Why would you upload naked pics to the cloud? I have a Dropbox account, but I use it for stuff with FS2004 and if I want to store something in private I'll use a 7z SFX encrypted archive using AES 256 bit encryption.

Have a priority package to ship. Don't want to go to the post office. Scheduled a pickup on USPS website. You can only select the next day and not today for pickup. I'm putting the fucker in the mail box today anyway and the mail man better pick it up. I'm getting something in the mail today anyway so he/she will be here.

I tried to do a mail recall (or whatever they call it) to intercept a CPU I sold on eBay because I forgot to add insurance. It was only in Denver and I figured I'd get it back. Nope. Went all the way to the east coast. Luckily it arrived. I could have been screwed about $270.

Train pulled away as I got on the platform this morning. Had to wait 5 minutes for the next one.
