Bought some JBL earbuds, they sound bland out the box so I installed the app to access the EQ. But the only built-in presets were piano, voice & jazz. You can make your own, and I know that'll technically sound better if you do it correctly. But now I gotta research and play with the shit because they don't want to include presets for music regular people listen to.

The Uber that I booked last night in advance for this morning showed up 25 minutes early and I wasn't ready to leave yet.

building a power bar with individual socket control with ESP32 and relays. So I got some wires for pigtails. Silly me bought 14GA solid instead of stranded (low amperage stuff) and it's a bitch to fit in box. It of course tolerates my butter fingers better but man it's a pain.

lost 2 bids on homes today with the same buyers. One was listed at 680K, we bid 750K with 20% down, good terms, and there were 13 offers we were not in the top few.
then lost a bid on a 750K list price home which went for over 800K.

We should just start kicking out Trump supporters to Florida so we can sell their homes to good folks.

If you're going to go through that work you may as well do it right and use proper solid 14 gauge like you would for a normal job and rate everything at 15 amps so you bought the right thing. I would also use an actual gang box instead of your kid's lego storage container or whatever that is. :p

I made my own power bar years back that I still use today, it's just 2 groups of 4 gang outlet boxes with two power cords encased in wood to make it more heafty. Allows me to have one side UPS protected and other side surge only. 8 outlets per side. If I was to do it over again I would have done 10 outlets per side.

My FWP today is that I am now working from our new office space, so I could not VPN to my house on the public wifi as I had not added the IP to my white list at home yet. So after my first night, now that I knew what the IP was, I added it to the firewall. 2nd night I still could not connect. They probably block most uncommon outbound ports. Made more changes so will have to try again tonight.

Since my surfing laptop got logged out from a bunch of sites including AT and Twitter I couldn't login to any of them because I couldn't get my passwords which are on my home network. I had to go without neffing and tweeting on my night shift for 2 days so far! The humanity.

Will try again tonight after the changes I just made. Time for bed!

it is 14GA solid, which is what code says for 15A, that is why it is hard to work with. actual gang box is too small. This is the same plastic anyway. everything checks out, already integrated to HA, just need to cut the lid to fit the sockets and jam all the wiring in. I can control 5 of the 6 sockets. the last one is where I plug in the usb charger so don't want to control that since that powers the ESP32 and the relays. I even used a noise filtering IEC socket.

This is for low amperage stuff so I am not too worried.

I went to Chick-fil-a for breakfast to test out the spicy fried chicken & egg burrito I saw on TikTok. They stop serving breakfast at 10:30am. I got there at 10:31am. They said no

I did a change to grub and accidentally rendered my work surfing system unbootable.

I was in process of reinstalling so ended up just doing that anyway. Was on Mint 17 and Lot of sites were starting not to work in that version of Firefox and it was no longer being updated, so I put 21 now.

But now my VPN is kinda half assed. Won't work in the client, only in command line, and I have to manually change DNS each time I connect.

Had an old x99 motherboard and i7-6800k cpu to go with it. Pretty outdated and power hungry (140w TDP). Sold it for $100. Have people pinging me right and left wanting it. Should have asked for more.

My truck smells like shit. I left the door open at the office, and farmers are spreading shit on the fields. It got in the upholstery, and every time I open the door, I smell shit.

My pepper bullets have been sitting in a vacuum sealed box for 5 years. Pulled them out last night and loaded up some magazines. Went to the gun range this morning and every last one of them failed. Gonna shoot off some of the rubber bullets tomorrow, if they fail I will not buy ammo from that shitty company again.

My girl cat's been very affectionate the last couple months. She shows her affection by laying in my lap, purring her ass off, and kneading my stomach for many minutes at a time. My stomach ends up shredded, but she's so earnest and pleased, I don't have the heart to stop her. It especially burns in the shower.

I realized I have golden handcuffs. I know I don't want to do my exact current job for another 30 years but right now now I can't change positions within my company (or jobs altogether). Maybe in another year or two.

Ah, it's a pillowy soft belly, isn't it? :p

Cats are heat seekers. My cat used to sleep on the heating vent.

Maybe she's just smelling the shit from your truck?

I feel the same way, I have a good job so no reason to change, but it's still "a job". I really don't want to have to work for the rest of my life so I really need to start thinking of a better long term plan. Inflation makes it hard since everything keeps going up in price so not like I can really save/invest much.

My old cat used to claw at my feet at night. I'd only find out the next morning when I got in the shower, ouch lol.

Wife tells me to show up to her company event. Had to show up by myself since she had a brunch with her friend downtown. Get to the venue at the designated time and she hasn't left the brunch yet :colbert:
