^^^ You should check out their Reddit to see how the employees (including managers) talk about customers.

I kicked CVS to the curb months ago after I tried to resolve a minor medication issue that should have taken 2 minutes to fix at most on the phone.

It was literally IMPOSSIBLE to reach anyone with a pulse nevermind to speak with an actual pharmacist. (and it was far from the 1st time)

Point being that I care about CVS employees comments on Reddit about as much as I would a piece of gum stuck to my shoe.

Bought a jar of strawberry jam, open it and found it too liquit to be called jam. Turns out at the bottom of the label it says jam-style spread ...

Well it's official we're moving out of the telco switching office and to the call centre office. None of us are a fan of this move, but at end of day just have to be happy we even have a job these days.

Going to have some fun sorting through all of these cables when it comes time to set up!

The silver lining is that we get to work 100% from home until the new office space is ready. Doing night shifts from home is going to be pretty nice. I did my last night shift at home when I had covid and that was pretty cool.

The best thing about working from home is being able to stay in your pajamas all day.

That and not having to get the truck ready. Taking snow off it, digging out the driveway, scraping windows, etc. It's great just hoping on my PC and being at work. WFH should be the standard IMO. They're spending all this money on this office move, just let us work from home permanently and be done with it. Maybe have a weekly mandatory off hours paid lunch meeting or something if they want to keep the social aspect going.

Roof leak manifested in computer room. Not a lot of water involved. One ceiling tile collapsed, knocking some stuff off a shelf. Sucks having a flat roof.

Actually that was yesterday, no water dripping today.

Ouch that sucks! I had a pipe explode very close to my server room years back, i got VERY lucky, the water was maybe a foot away from the base of the server rack. Those frost free valves are not quite frost free... the cold just travels through the pipe and freezes the other side of the valve anyway. I make sure to shut the valve that is further in, and drain it every year now. The bad thing with those is they explode only in spring when you go to use the hose for the first time and you have no idea it's happening while you're outside. Meanwhile water is going to be spraying everywhere.

I've since put plywood between the joists that can slide in and out, so if it happens again it will at least contain the water to some degree.

At work I've caught lot of water leaks, one time we even had water leaking over the DSLAMs. Now that we won't be in that office anymore lot of stuff like that will go unnoticed until it's a disaster... oh well lol.

Drove a friend to an appointment, neither of us had been there so we didn't know exactly where it was. I found the address she said

"no this isn't it"
"huh? Yes it is, right on the building 2079"
"No, I told you the address for the office is 20790"
"I know what you said, but you were mistaken it's obviously 2079 we're looking"
"I know the address, I'm the one who wrote it down."

I tried explaining to her she had probably just jotted it down wrong, nope, we were clearly at the wrong address. So I told her if by some stretch of the wildest imagination she was actually correct. We were we won't make it there faaaaaaar away from 20790. I tried to explain how blocks work, and how 20790 isn't going to be a block away like it seemed in her head. And if it existed it would be like, cities away. She refused to listen and told me to drive up the street so she could see her for herself, as she was certain it would be just a block over. Spoiler alert it wasn't...

"huh... this doesn't make any sense" <--- her

So she absolutely insisted I pull over so she could call and get directions. I did it to keep her quiet. She was on hold for what seemed like 30 minutes, and you probably guessed it, the address we were looking for was 2079.

Also earlier in the day she had me read her credit card info so she could type it in.

"expiration?"
"10/25"
"is that 2025?"

I thought she was joking around, then I realized she was serious and I literally was unable to respond. Maybe she thought it could be 2125 and the card has a fucking 103 year expiration I dunno I didn't ask.

I know I have a lot of WTF dumb thought moments, at least it wasn't me for once lol.

Oddly enough, it IS possible for an address a block away to be considerably different.

I've seen a number of instances where address schemes change at a city or county line. That happens at least twice in the county I'm in. A three digit address next door to a four digit address (not sequential).

Personally, I would have a serious talk with her if she were my friend (risking alienation, of course). Keep scores on how many times I was right and she was right. And if she's losing by a good enough margin, tell her to shut up and listen :D

You have great patience for her. Maybe marry her? :p

Maybe not a FWP, but the fckn dog found a ball point pen last night...chewed the hell out of it, (probably ate half of the barrel) got ink all over the 8x10 area rug...so bad, there's no saving it. Now, I get to go buy another "inexpensive" area rug. Times like this, the odds of him living to 2 years old get smaller and smaller.

I'm interested to know what job she does. Maybe it's what made her this way.

Just be happy you've (apparently?) managed to dodge a $1000 vet-bill! ;)

Ordered a lovely end cut teak cutting board from Sur la Table and they packaged it like idiots. It came like this with some paper packing material on top.

But the board was sitting at the bottom of the box fit in really snugly so there was no protection on the bottom, corners or sides.

And this is how it arrived. A third of it literally cracked off.

Sending me a replacement. But what a waste of a beautiful cutting board and resources.

Putting in extra nails in my dricore subfloor to make sure it's solid and suitable for tiles and the SDS masonry bit I was using broke on me and I had like maybe 5 more holes to go.
