Sounds like they are bullshitting you. Good luck!

Fckn bait and switch is what it feels like.

Something that REALLY pisses me off...when I put in the order, they were offering $800 trade in for my old phones on the S21 Ultra, but only $440 for the iPhone 13 ProMax that I wanted...
Now, they're offering $700 trade in toward the iPhones.
abe.thumb.png
That by itself might be enough to get me to send the S21 (and the new accessories) back tomorrow when it arrives...

Why not just go to a Verizon store?

Damn, I'm jealous. Would like to do more word working, but moved to a place without a garage or shed.
What insanity is this. Did you give up your man cave, too?

I can see this being a problem if you have to a retirement place. :(

closest Verizon store is at least 75 miles each way...maybe 100...not sure.
there is one cell phone store about 25 miles away that sells Verizon, but they're NOT a Verizon store, just an independent dealer.

After over 3 hours on the phone, I THINK I have things fixed...maybe. We'll see.

Logged into Win10 this morning. Edge is open in fullscreen mode. I had uninstalled Edge. I am now unable to uninstall it. F*ck Microsoft.

You would never know it but despite Microsoft's best efforts to completely ruin Chrome-Edge there are times that it comes in handy.

For example its incredible how different Youtube looks when you don't sign in to Gmail/your Google account and skip the garbage algorithm/AI deciding what you want to look at!

We downsized under less than ideal conditions. The market was was 'hot', which is another word for low inventory and high prices .Had to take a place closer to the city center with less land and either 1 car garages or just parking off the backstreet. Places with two car garages were on double lots and hence cost about $50K more than our budget. I would have preferred a house in a more suburban area in the city were the same amount of land and a 2 car garage would have only cost us $10k more. Bizarrely, houses in priced in our old range (300-400K) went down in price and houses in our new range (200-300k) went up. The real estate market can be a kick in the balls sometimes. This is, hopefully, not our retirement home, as I'd prefer to buy a ranch in the next 7-8 years since both the Mrs. and I are slowly developing more arthritis, first floor living would be a good thing.

Maybe, but edge is spyware. So I uses Firefox w/ublock and a privacy oriented chromium based browser. I do log into YouTube so I have all my subscriptions on tap - though every month or two the geniuses feel the need to insert a bunch of videos, completely unrelated to my interests, into my home page .

So Edge is spyware BUT Chrome isn't ?!? :p

(Edge is BETTER then Chrome by a fairly wide margin in terms of privacy... FF of course is worlds better then either one)

No, Chromium based, privacy browser. They use the open source chromium based underpinnings that Chrome uses, but don't add all the junk that's in Chrome. I'd rather eat of bucket of maggots than use Chrome. Okay, maybe not, but the point still stands.

That would make 90% of web-browsers spyware.

Sounds about right! :confused_old:

I guess using Chrome based browsers is the same as using a custom rom on a phone. Still android based, but they strip out all the spy stuff as best as they can.

I still prefer Firefox though.

LED fixture, one of 2 in kitchen, went out. Thing was supposed to last 30 years, it lasted 4. I don't keep the kitchen lights on all the time either. Commercial Electric brand - a Home Depot special the developer put in.

Well went to home depot, this style is already discontinued. Can't get it anywhere in the store or on Amazon. Luckily it seems one seller has a pack of four on eBay but they won't get here until end of the week at the earliest.I have a date with this great girl on Wednesday where I'm cooking her dinner and I don't want it to look dark in there or cut myself while mincing garlic because I can't see well. I have four total of these specific fixtures in my unit. I grabbed one from over the washer/dryer, which gets plenty of other light, and put it in the kitchen. Problem solved.

I switched to Firefox the other week on my desktop and on my mobile. However Firefox mobile has some setbacks, like to share a link, I don't see an option to just copy the link, just different apps to share it in. Just little quality of life issues. Plus something else was not working right.

FF mobile is actually pretty crap. They changed it, I guess about a year or two ago, and it's practically unusable now. Maybe it's better now, I'd have to try it again. I'm using one called Bromite but it's chrome based. Supposedly it's privacy oriented though, in that it won't spy on you.

That's my big grippe with fixtures that have integrated led. That seems to be the way a lot of them are going too... Chances are by the time it fails they won't make that exact style anymore, so if you have multiple it kind of breaks the look to put something different.

Suppose you could replace the individual LED modules though. Be nice if these companies would give tech info like datasheet of LEDs etc and schematic of driver.

It's definitely annoying. This place was just built 4.5 years ago. Already discontinued.

I'm buying a four pack from eBay and will then have three more backups. I have four total of those fixtures in my place, hopefully I only got the one dud.

Same here, however some things simply work better in Chrome on PC.

What I try to do is use FF for most secure transactions/serious things other than email and Chrome or Edge for media consumption & browsing.

Far as Android goes I keep an updated version of FF installed in case Chrome gets borked somehow (I've had it happen!) but its "clunky" for lack of a better term so I rarely touch it aside from installing updates.

Just put up some work lights, I'm sure she won't mind! Also, be sure to put down some tarp so she thinks you're actually working on something. Also, duct tape and an axe would really set a nice mood.

Seems like it. Every time it gets cold it breaks. Mechanic said to use transmission fluid, but since he fixed it, I assume that's what he put in it. It seems to be leaking from a different area now and it does appear to be brownish red, and not bright red so I do wonder if it is just regular power steering fluid he put in.

Thankfully I don't have to go anywhere for next little while so tomorrow I can book a time in and hopefully I get in before my night shifts start. I don't like driving it like that since it's probably hard on the rack and on the pump.

Sounds like a warranty issue then.
