I thought my Motorola cell phone was part of the 'Android One' platform from Google.

Basically, upgrade to the next 2 versions of Android.
It came with Android 9, and i updated to Android 10 last year.

Found out I wont be getting Android 11.
Apparently the 'Android one' platform is only for versions of the same phone sold in Europe and Latin America.

WTF?!

So the Motorola users in the US are lesser (2nd banana) than those in Europe and S. America?

a month later, my eat out bill just by myself is down to $300.
still too high.

i cut out the korean bbq and shrimp/mussels buffets. (i still goto the sushi buffet.)
but i added a couple of new restaurants and a craft brewery that charges by the oz.

they have 20+ taps on the wall with all sorts of beer.
it's .40 to .60 per oz, depending on beer.
so $5 - $7 for 12oz
I'm down to $200 this month eating out by myself.
1/2 of what it was 2 months ago.

this is acceptable to me

Not quite, just that some of their phones are sold as Android ONE phones. Particularly if you buy directly from Motorola or another third party. Phones sold from carriers can be the exact same model of phone but not be Android ONE phones because they're carrier locked or some other reason. I made sure when I bought my moto that it was Android ONE. That being said, people shouldn't have to worry about this. All phones that are the same model should get the updates, regardless of whether it's the Android ONE version or not. Motorola is just being stupid.

except the motorola one action.
It's the only phone on that Android ONE platform that isnt getting the upgrade if you're in the US.
and of course, i have the motorola one action :(

I do hate the BS they do with smartphones. It needs to be like PC instead of having the manufacturers handle the updates it should be the OS maker (Google in the case of Android). Imagine if Dell, HP, IBM etc were each individually responsible for Windows update or the ability to upgrade to a newer version of windows, and could just up and decide to stop updating a certain model PC because it's old and they want you to upgrade. That's basically what they do with phones.

Protein bar & energy drinks are 12/$20 at the supplement store up the street. I wanted 12 of each, they have way too many choices so it took me a long time to figure out what to buy.

Then when counting them out out while paying I noticed I only had 11 drinks, so I had to go back and figure out another to get.

Wheel done..$30. 36 spokes, $13 on amazon with prime. Time to watch youtube university and do it myself. I do all of the other handyman jobs at home but I know there is some skill/experience to truing but wasting/waiting a week isn't OK.
Talked with my friend that used to build bikes. He told me to pay the professional. It's a lot more complicated than just putting on the spoke and tightening the nipple.

You have to adjust the spokes so that the wheel is round and straight. Lots of work.

Yes, this is the right choice! I bent a front wheel because the public works guys mounted a drain grate too high. Spent an hour trying to get the wheel straight without screwing up the tension - eff me. Took it into the shop where they had the right jig and an older mechanic just buzzed through it in 30 mins. Worth every penny.

Yahoo said my login cookie had expired, so I had to log in again, but could not remember my password. So I had to reset my password. :\

this gets worse when you have a guy who thinks they can build a custom pc but has never tryed it.
You would be amazed at how lost people can get when building one and managing what to ziptie.

Nope. Have to have the right length, in mm. Diameters are different. Spoke crossing pattern makes a difference. Some taper in the middle. Right tension. Wheel material makes a difference. On the rear, the rotor or cassette has to come off. And that's all I remember but there was more.

If I break another soon, I'll have it all respoked because the rest are likely to be stressed too. I got a lot of years out of the last whole wheel job.

So, when I feel like a little homemade treat in the summer, I pour some milk, a bit of cream, vanilla extract and Truvia into a glass and put it in the freezer. If I time it our right, it comes out like creamy ice milk. Except today, because the automatic 'defrost' cycle ran twice for some dumb reason. Also, why does it even bother running during the day? It's not a smart fridge, do smart fridges have a setting so that defrost only runs at night? Hideous waste of energy at the most expensive time of day . Back to carving out ice from river behind the dam, PITA :p

I just had to do that here at ATF, well, with the help of one of our kindly mods. But, it's just because I was a bozo while trying to change my password. Password managers work great so long as you don't hit cancel when it asks if one wants to update their password

Seriously, password managers are great, and there’s free ones. I don’t miss my password book at all (especially when a borked update killed all my saved passwords as happened to you).
