Never teach you wife how to turn on the water in the basement!

Gate valve on the water inlet to toilet tank gave way. Shut the water of last night but showed the missus how to turn it on since she gets up earlier than me.
This afternoon (yeah, lazy ass) I stop and tell her I'm going to the hardware store and show her the valve. While I'm out, she needs to use the bathroom and does. Because she's a female, the idea of not flushing causes panic, so she goes downstairs and turns on the water. I get a call of the way home from the hardware store - you need to buy a shop vac we have a flood......I purposefully married a smart woman, what went wrong :(
Educated/=smart. Just look at our education system.

Painful experiences makes people smarter. 😀

She's both, but not when it comes to plumbing, electrical, the car, etc.

Anyway, I'm the one who needs to learn the painful lesson here. Like, tape shit off, put up a sign, whatever.
I definitely married up. Wasn't really that hard...anyway, the wife can jack up an excel spreadsheet even after I protect formula cells.

Only bike shop in town. The next closest is 30 min away and they're arrogant pricks. Bet they're open though.

I keep saying...there's only one way to deal with bicyclists...

Holy Shit! Freaking homicidal maniac! I had sport cars buzz me real close at 70mph, beer bottles thrown at me with accompanying curse words, cars drive me off the road, cars cut in front of me at cross streets (I was a big guy wearing bright blue jerseys). But this is just over the top. License suspended for life would be a good start b/4 prison time.

Picked a bad day to do cooking. thunderstorm and now the power went out! At least the instant pot part is done but rice cooker was partially through. No idea what happens if I turn it on again when power comes back... it's probably not smart enough to start where it left off and the rice cooling down probably messes up the process anyway.

found i'd been dinged with a foreign transaction fee on a purchase that had 0 warning was foreign. .com address and transaction in US dollars. buried in their support faq there's a line that says your card might get declined if it's not authorized for foreign transactions, but why the fuck would i go to the support faq to buy some reusable face masks?

Had that problem with Analogue FPGA clone consoles. Their payment processor is in Hong Kong so I got something about "Causeway Bay" with a $12 fee from Bank of America.

Got stung when I ordered two Super Nt game consoles and saw others were surprised by the same thing with the Mega Sg a year later. I used a different card for the Mega Sg and made sure there would be no fee.

It's an American company (WA state) with an American owner (Chris Tabor) engineered in another American state (Indiana) by an American engineer (Kevin "Kevtris" Horton) and shipped through American warehousing and logistics services in Arizona. It wasnt even in a FAQ. There was absolutely no way to anticipate this. Even after trying to spread the word they just responded on Twitter telling me to talk to my bank. They didn't even add a note on their website for next year's big product so I had hoped the situation had changed but: nope.

So I went to another Shell gas station last night (not my regular gas station) to fill up and use the $0.10 discount per gallon from Kroger. The pump said I would get $0.20 discount per gallon (even better than normal) after I entered the Kroger discount information. Did my fill up and the receipt printed out and there was NO discount. The price was the same. Should have use the Shell Fuel Reward for $0.05 per gallon discount at the regular Shell station to have something than nothing.

Oh and the price of recycle aluminum cans is down to $0.25/lb. I remember it was $0.40/lb or higher just a year or two ago. I did 15 lbs today with 1 lb took off as tare weight for a total of 14 lbs x $0.25 = $3.50. You are welcome, Mother Earth.

when we were in Kahleeforneeya, aluminum cans were $2.10/lb. of course, that includes the CRV fee you pay when you buy almost any kind of beverage. Last time I checked, it was down to $1.90/lb.

Since we moved to WA, aluminum can prices here are dismal. Last time I checked (about 2 years ago) the best I could find was $.40/lb...I started chucking them into the recyclable bin.

I'm trying to setup an online account to manage my mobile account as I switched providers, and no matter what password I use it says it's too common. I freaking hate these ridiculous complexity requirements some sites have. How the F is 8wQOg*fEizEzZ(wCYlW,qEbOKsV~swwh too common? Like serously. How freaking complex do they want it? To make it worse they don't let you paste in the second field so I had to type it manually for each attempt. Started with an 8 character and just moved up and added more characters and it was never good enough.

Over complicated password requirements is one of my biggest pet peeves. There should be zero limits, just allow everything. The minute you have restrictions you're just reducing entropy. It does nothing to make it more secure.

Probably the repeated letters, "zZ" and "ww".

I started using KeePass a few years ago and I haven't looked back. It can generate passwords based on any requirement (and as strong as possible), and you just need to know one strong master password. I also have a key file that allows me to unlock the database (in combination with the master password.) It's a no-brainer, IMO.

I have a coupon for $2 off any Neutrogena sunblock, and I like the Neutrogena SheerZinc 50spf, so I wanted to pick up a bottle. Went to Walgreens, and they are pretty much cleaned out of sunblock. What the hell?

I'm using a password manager I wrote myself (not a fan of cloud ones, and I wanted something web based that runs on my own server) but without knowing their stupid requirements there's no way the random number generator can account for it.

I ended up emailing their support, they need to fix their shit. Worse part is the "live" password thing that tells me if it's valid goes green, it only errors out when I go to submit.

VRBO hasn't paid me for the peeps that stayed 5/22. Called and they said it could be 3-4 weeks because of the wuhan flu. Bullshit. I think they don't have it. Same for the renter's deposit.
