VRBO is no better. Lodging at Providenciales, Turks and Caicos, is just really expensive with very limited supply of rentals. $1,000/ night is the norm there. I ended up finding decent looking place at $600/ night.
You could come stay in mine for $80/night but this is podunk S.C.

My needs are pretty straightforward. I use LibreOffice at work, and converted 2.5 machines aside from mine over to it. All my docs are in odt, and the only person it confounds is the idiot draftsman. I'd have more success teaching my cat quantum physics than teaching the draftsman just about anything. Simple logic eludes him :^/

edit:
For a reference, this is the guy that sends me a simple ascii file by printing out plain text, scanning it to pdf, then emailing me a pdf. He does this Every . Single . Time... I could see being a little flustered, and just doing something stupid like that to get work off in a timely manner, but after it was done, I'd be thinking "that digital-analog-digital conversion was really stupid. How could make that better?" Not him. That's just the way it's done :^S

Yeah, at a former company the standard practice for handling pictures was to put them in word documents.

My FWP is that it won't stop snowing and freezing raining. We're going to get 2-6 inches this weekend with a low of 0, followed by three days solid of freezing rain next week. It's basically March, it should be 72 outside.

ffs thats bad man,more pills?
Sorry, poor communication. I only have to take 2 more prednisone pills and I'm done with that. Hopefully these stop. The headaches aren't real bad. It's the vision that's messed up...can't see the screen or keyboard clearly. These symptoms last 20 or 30 min and then the headache start.

I might get 1 in a years time. 3 in 3 days is concerning.

Or it could be a tumor.

Dr ordered me duexis. It's 800mg ibuprofen 20mg famotidine (pepcid). About $10/mo separately. Combined in 1 pill....$2500. WTF? https://www.goodrx.com/duexis

Pretty sure I'll pass.
So the nurse calls em back and said that's why they called it into a mail order because, with most insurance, the customer only pays $10. I asked if the insurance companies picked up the other $2450. Yep. WTFBBQ? I told her it was unconscionable for them to even prescribe it. Are people are too stupid to take 2 pills instead of 1 for a $2400 savings?

I've got a good idea! You take the two pills, and the insurance company gives you $1k. Everybody wins!

Migraines are bastards. I've got a few friends who get visual migraines. I get touch and sound-sensitive migraines. The sound isn't a huge problem, but the touch means I can't lay down. Fortunately I get them a lot less than I used to.

Hope you feel better.

I'm good, thanks, and pretty happy considering. Mine are just a nuisance compared to a lot of suffers. I'll pass on walking a mile in their shoes.

Since they were dicks about how they presented the forms, you should be a dick about how you submit them. I'd open them in gimp, and fill them out using an ornate blackletter font or something :^D

Actual call this morning…

Caller: Hi, I'm Steve and I understand that you own the lot down at the corner of X and Y roads. I'm looking for a place to train my horses. Would it be okay to run my horses on your lot?

Me: I don't own that lot.

Caller: I really need a place to run my horses and the lot looks like a great place for it.

Me: You'll have to talk to the owner.

Caller: Do you think it would okay to run my horses there?

Me: I have no idea; it's not my lot.

Caller: I thought you were the owner?

Me: No, it's not my lot.

Caller: I really want to run my horses there.

Me: You'll have to talk to the owner.

Caller: Do have their number?

Me: I have no idea who the owner is.

Caller: Do you think they'd let me run my horses?

Me: I'm gonna have to let you go now, goodbye.

Tenant for the week of the Masters just cancelled. Reason: I don't feel like traveling at this time. $1200.00

Hopefully we'll rent it being Masters week but anyone with any sense has already booked.

Draftsman's girlfriend got a DWI last night. That's his ride into work in the mornings. Somehow this is gonna negatively affect me. I've been enjoying my time not having to deal with him :^/

Wow. I had a similar experience back when I worked for a large bank's data center in NY. Someone called at like 2am asking me to approve a very large financial transaction. I couldn't get it through to them that I was just a guy in a giant room of computers with no such authority. After a few minutes I looked up the bank's 800-number on their webpage and told him they could approve it.

Found out I have to go to Houston Wednesday for a meeting, returning 24 hrs later. At least I get to drive so it will be a slow decent into hell.

I think I just have to accept that my body wants to go to bed around 4pm and wake up at midnight.
