This insane night at work is not really getting any better. I think I have stuff under control but still crazy, like trying to keep track of what sites have power outage, where techs are etc... it becomes a logistical nightmare to keep up. You have people calling asking questions left and right etc...

Think we just lost some microwave sites, problem is half this stuff does not alarm properly so we're always playing guessing games. I have better alarm points on my house, then half of these places. It's pretty bad.

I was making coffee this morning, and when I lifted the water hatch on my bunn, a spider scurried underneath, amd went under the plastic grill. I like spiders, so I usually try to get them out of harms way. I'm looking at it, and trying to figure out how I'm getting the spider out, and said "fuck it. I don't have time for this shit", and dumped the water in washing the spider into the bunn's innards. I'm making another pot of spider coffee now. Not quite sure how I feel about that, but I'm pretty sure I prefer my coffee sans spiders.

I stayed 30 mins extra at work today. Basically, I wasted 30 precious minutes. I want compensation.

What's the OT you guys are talking about? There is no such thing in salary-land. You stay and work until problems are resolved.

Then you can take comp time later.

I do miss the $$$ from OT way back then.

If you don't get paid for OT, time for a different job. If a company expects me to work extra then I want compensation. If the company's customers want something extra they have to pay extra right? It works both ways.

That said I always jump at the opportunity for OT, but it's because of the money. :D

You should have stayed 31 minutes, then you get to put in 45min OT. Not sure if that's standard everywhere but for my work OT is in 15min increments. :D
Really? 31 mins? It wasn't OT btw I just stayed to do some extra bits and bobs. Same me 15min increments too. Part time is different ofc I think its 1 hour part timers lol. I dunno.

The prime and grass fed cuts of steak at my local grocery were pretty terrible. Easily on par in terms of marbling as the normal shit they had. =(

Rockler had a nice little off-brand mini lathe on sale for $220. (Marked down from $300.)

But the chuck I wanted added another $100. :(

The new piece of crap HP monitoring software they randomly decided to implement keeps crashing. They are moving lot of alarm points to this thing and it's a POS. I can't help but laugh every time it crashes but it's a pain since I have to relogin. They wrote a script on the server that restarts it when it crashes, as before we actually had to call someone each time.

The software I wrote to monitor my mouse traps at home is literally better than that thing.

This just in, another problem, I just accidentally discovered that middle click in Linux CLOSES windows when clicked on the task bar. WTF! I was scrolling the web page but my hand slipped and I middle clicked on the task bar instead of the web page. I had about 20 documents open in that one window. Gone. Middle click in Linux is weird though, it does whatever the hell it wants depending on the program you're in. It should be for scrolling and only scrolling. In some programs it even pastes, I get screwed over so often by that when coding, I just want to scroll and instead it pastes crap in the code.

If you're using Firefox in Linux, shouldn't it ask if you want to close multiple tabs?

Was my text editor that closed. It normally would ask but I guess the middle click action overrides that. It did not even ask to save (thankfully I had already saved as I never leave stuff open that's not saved). Just a pain as I had to reopen all the documents again.

You ONLY started to floss? You must have had all kinds of cavities.

None. Cavities is from plaque on the outer enamel which flossing doesn't help much. Flossing is between teeth in the crevices so instead I have/had gum disease. Been flossing religiously ever since - it's not even that much of a chore. Things you learn...
