I have a client presentation to give this evening complete with slide show and poster boards. Management keeps changing crap. I have to remind my managers that we are going live today, like today, not tomorrow or in a week but today.

Order one item from NewEgg on Thursday for 2 days shipping by FedEx. Right now it is Monday night and the item is not delivered.

Today is Tuesday 1/10/17 and I just check FedEx and my 1 item (software) package (nothing big or heavy) is "in transit" somewhere in CA and the scheduled to deliver changed from "Monday 1/9/17" to "pending". Ship out on Thursday 1/5/17 for two business days delivery.....FedEx....WTF????

Went to Penn Station for lunch. It was free cookie Tuesday. They ended up giving me two so now I'll have extra calories to work off.

...... On the last day of a temp contract, they made me copy and collate a humungulous package of documents once. Stuck it on me at 4pm in the afternoon, I ended up staying past midnight and coming in at 7am the next morning. Then they decided to modify one of the biggest documents in the morning. Finished with like an hour to spare before the meeting they needed it for.

And I bit my effing cheek hard yesterday. But I got lucky with the public transit, only got charged for one fare instead of two with the electronic pass thing!

Wanted to see a movie today and the theater was closed. There was a piece of cardboard taped to a saw horse/barricade with lettering that was barely visible. So this was obviously last minute rather than a planned closure.

Checked their website and they've taken down showtimes for tonight and tomorrow. So it looks serious.

This is one of the last theaters in the area that hasn't upgraded to recliner seating. I can only imagine how screwed up things are going to be when/if they ever get around to making that change.

The last time I figured out Open VPN I wanted to write scripts that facilitate adding/deleting users, as it's a convoluted process of making all these different cert files and crap and knowing where to put them. I never did that nor did I document the process, and now I need to do lot of googling and figure out all the steps again.

Got rained on. Hard. It's January in Canada, dafuq? All my shit is drying out in the living room.

And I have a Craigslist negotiator... We agree on a price, I try to be nice and take off $5 more, then he asks for another $5.

FML. Craigslist... I say I'm available after 5pm and then ask when they can make it. No response, they say ok and ask for my number. It seems like they interpret "after 5pm" as just after 5pm while I am using it as a window. But when I tell them to narrow it down, they don't...

Lost me internets since Saturday night. Cable from the box out front of the house to the house was the culprit. 17 years old and I'm sure was nicked a few times given that they buried it an inch and a half down. Yeah, lets lay the cables on top of the top soil and just lay the sod over it when we build this subdivision.

Broke my car antenna while brushing off snow. I have to wait a whole three days for the replacement part to arrive on my doorstep.

Craigslist: stood up again. The worst thing? I knew it would happen.

I gave the guy a 3 hour window and asked him to say exactly when -- he didn't. All I got was a vague answer so I use that and say exactly when. It sounded like the guy expected me to stand in the street for hours for him. While I gave him my number and dude didn't give his. So, I show up early, wait a while, hear nothing, leave. After leaving, he tells me he's on his way... I tell him off and don't go back.

There were other huge red flags: when I gave the guy a discount after we agreed on a price, he asked for more; the first was when he low balled me upon contact. You'd think I'd have this figured out by now.

Say the price is firm in the listing, and that asking for a discount raises the price by $5 for each instance.

I'm leaning towards doing stuff like that. Being nice just gets me walked all over.

People have a need to negotiate on used items. Trick is to price it higher & let them bring it down to the price you want. That way they feel like they're getting a good deal & have done their due diligence in haggling you down, and can brag to their friends about the "deal" they got.
