Bought some battery powered led lights for the truck from biglots, and paid $4.50. I later went to aldi, and they had lights with 5 fewer on the string for $1.50, but they had a setting to make them blink! I had to buy those too :^(

I'm building a(nother) death ray. I have the ballast in hand, the bulb is in transit, but I need to know the bulb base size in order to order the correct socket. The online description just says "special G24". There are a bunch of G24 socket types so I can't order the socket until I have the bulb. I also need the bulb in hand to determine the measurements for the custom cut filter. The bulb is not arriving in a timely manner. This is holding up my plan.
Its funny that you should mention that as a number of years ago I considered building a class 6 tree pruner. The weight savings over a pole saw is what brought on the idea as all I would have is the emitter and a collector that I would've made adjustable for varying diameters of limbs. The thought of actually setting a branch on fire during the burning process was sufficient deterrent to following through with the project.

If it's a CFL bulb, then ya, deathray it indeed is with the toxic shit mercury in there.

Edit: And dafuq? General Tso isn't real? What is this about the chef who invented it dying.

Went to read about how bad everyone thinks the Waking Dead was last week, thread was ALL the way back on the 9th page. Strangely enough, it was 4 pages past the Paul Walker Dead thread, which briefly tricked me.

Made a ticket for those RCUs, only so much I can do on the switch until I figure it probably requires an on site tech. Nice thing is that we don't do dispatch for that area anymore. Was always a pain trying to get ahold of someone especially on a weekend. So it's out of my hands now. :p

Ballast?! Well there's your problem, everybody has moved on to solid state diodes for their death rays.

Don't listen to that stuff. Major Grey was under Colonel Sanders but it was General Tso who ran the show and Captain D. was his aide de camp. Historical fact: Captain D. never even saw an ocean during his time in the army.

Feel light headed after holding my breath... but I don't think it's the breath holding part since it's 20 seconds or less most of the time, it's the hyperventilating afterward.

Oh, and flaky Craigslisters. FML.

I can top all you. When my wife was 16 she had a baby and put it up for adoption. Yesterday a P.I. gets a hold of my father in law and says he's looking for my wife (by former name). After many questions he's given this girl's number (now grown adult with kids and married). It's her he finds out, and calls and tells my wife and gives her the girls number. After a couple hours, and getting up the nerve, she calls the girl. They talk for a long while, very positive! They end up chatting on facebook into the wee hours last night. After telling our family, everyone is excited (an understatement). So, all of a sudden we have a new family member (???), we are try to absorb this whole situation, but she has had a wonderful life, and essentially wanted to tell my wife "thank you" for giving her up. My wife and her are now connecting, and she wants to come out and meet everyone sometime (in the next year, or 2).

^Not to be overly cynical... but did you get some DNA testing done?

I'm thinking of a certain movie. People do fucked up things.

LOL. No, no need. Her parents have all the documentation, with my father in laws name, my wife's maiden name, where she was adopted from, etc.... And she looks soooo much like my wife, it's crazy! If she seemed odd or anything I would tell my wife to back away. But it's the opposite. She has a great family, from what we can see, a masters degree (a teacher), and seems like a really good person.
Update, she's thinking of coming out MLK weekend. (OMG)

Also, what's crazy is that she had been looking off and on for years. Saturday morning she decides to contact a P.I, and within 2 hours he found us.

It's disturbing how efficient the PI was. Probably had access to some database.

I had to get out of bed this morning?

Just kidding (but not really). My main 1st world problem is having to find a gunsmith and go to them to have a stupid fuckin front sight put on an AR-15 I'm gonna be building. It's an easy job (just drill and ream two holes) but I don't have the tools to do it. Thankfully they're open until 8 PM Mondays so I can go after work instead of having to burn a lunch break on it (and then working late to make up for the time). The rifle is gonna look so frickin sweet though.

I played games on my phone all morning before work and need to charge it, but my charger is on the other side of the room and I have a cat on my lap.

Harbor Freight is cheaper and you'll have the tools for future projects.

Future accident report: It appears that the failure was caused by two screws extending into the barrel…

I'm torn between applying for stable jobs doing stuff I find tedious and boring and staying with a job I enjoy where there's no guarantee of steady future work.
