Nah it's those late night cups of coffee before bed that I've been indulging in lately. When I wake up and find that I've pissed myself like a small child then I'll have to consider medical care.

I am looking forward to shorter and cooler days. But, oh well.
Yeah that's the part of winter I hate the most. Dark by 4pm and does not really get bright before 9am. Can go for days at a time without seeing any day light.

Too tired to drive to Popeyes which is an inconvenient 5 miles away.
So I asked my wife to pickup dinner.
Been toying with going solar, but the short days is really the biggest issue. I'd get good use out of it maybe for 4-5 months. Suppose it would still be fine in winter though, just need to ensure it can fully charge the battery bank in 8h and that the battery bank can last the rest of that time. Would probably need generator or other source half way through the night to top up batteries. Or just need to only run some stuff off it and not everything.
Screw that. I spend as much time as possible in my 1 window AV room. And that window has a room darken shade. Come spring, my carefully cultivated pallor is blinding. You have to leave the basement once in a while.
You might be able to use the panels to feed the reservoir of a heat pump. Only thing is, I don't think the reservoir type are the most common. I think most use the pump and dump method with ground water since it's always at a constant temperature.Because you live in the arctic, you may want to look at thermal solar panels for heating, not photo-voltaic or PV. Thermal ones circulate a liquid through the panels, use the sun to heat the panels + liquid, then use the heated liquid to heat a building. May need to install heat pipes all over your house though, I forget how exactly it works. Your Heating Degree Days has to be pretty high up there.
And my own problem: they took away all the Amazon gift cards at my local store. FML, I gotta use my credit card.
News outlets saying Samsung may be recalling their Note 7 because of battery fires. I am disappoint that lithium-ion battery makers still don't have the tech down to a T -- means I never charge my lithium-ion batteries unless I'm nearby and conscious, and I'll stick to 1 amp or lower chargers.
