Newegg/FedEx delivered something I bought on Saturday before something I bought last Wednesday even though I paid shipping costs for the Wednesday product (FS on other one) and I wanted it more.

Something flew off a truck and cracked my windshield. Luckily it's starting on the passenger side so I have some time before I should replace it

If you're going to replace it you might as well just do it right away. The windshield provides quite a lot of structural support in a collision and particularly in a rollover. Cracks compromise the strength of your windshield and by extension your car.

So now I need to decide if I move back to the hospital which would be more secure, or stick to this gravy train with a slightly higher risk of potentially losing my job in the future.

If you asked me years ago, I'd have thought that a hospital would also be a more secure work environment. Now, I don't know... especially with government finances right now.

Remember that the next government may be PC and remember the last PC leader's election promise to fire like 100,000 public sector workers? And remember what happened the last time there was a PC government? I knew some people who worked in the government then and got marched into a hotel conference room to get laid off en masse. Even if the position isn't technically public sector, funding could be cut to hospitals.

Of course, no one knows what will actually happen but something to keep in mind.

That's the thing too, when I was there, there was always some small talk about the potential for all of IT stuff to be moved to the main hospital that already has the servers for the EHR. So yeah, even public sector is not all that secure anymore. In a way it might be worse because it depends on the government in power, and that changes every so often.

So yeah I think I'm better off staying put. Switching jobs means starting everything from scratch seniority wise.

When I went out this morning I found that the mole had eaten the tomcat poison peanuts that I'd left in two locations in his new tunnels. I used a total of 9 gas cartridges in his new tunnels starting with his known escape route to the neighbors yard and then worked my way towards the direction he was traveling. I also got everything in between so I'm hoping that got him. I've got 9 cartridges left and I feel like I'm lighting off a half a stick of dynamite each time I drop one into his tunnels. :)

In the drive-through this morning, they handed me a straw for my drink, but I dropped it off to one side. So I couldn't drink my soda for the 5 minutes or so it took me to get to work.

I searched of Pokemon Go videos on youtube. I haven't ever played Pokemon but I wanted to see how it worked. Now all of my suggested videos are a bunch of Pokemon stuff.

Running out of meds. Doctor blames pharmacy. Pharmacy blames doctor.

Details: Pharmacy not communicating with doctor office. I gave them 3 days to notify my doctor. Called today and pharmacy says it's still waiting on doctor to authorize refill. Went in to doctor today and they had never received any request from pharmacy. W.T.H.

As far as I know, we don't have moles here and I've only ever seen them on King of the Hill. While we have raccoons, we aren't allowed to do anything to them -- someone got animal cruelty charges for hitting one, IIRC.

So, you're allowed to treat them like rats/pests? That's a big corpse to get rid of.

Edit: And now that I'm keeping my raw video files, it appears that my 500 GB hard drive may be on the smaller side -- installed it one or two years ago.

What type of soda do you drink in the morning?

Edit - I'm on the train heading home in a mostly empty train car and the kid next to me is talking on the phone in his pre-pubescebt voice to his girlfriend on and on about Pokémon.

The wife didn't rinse out the shower after she used it and I about broke my hip slipping in the tub later.

This gonna hurt tomorrow.

Sadly enough the mole emerged further out in the front yard with new tunnels even more damaging than before. He also went under the street and started on the neighbors front yard along the curb so obviously the smoke bombs are a bust. I did mine his routes with the poison peanuts but I'm not holding my breath and will probably have to resort to the traps again. I'm actually kicking around the idea of creating an attachment for the lawnmower exhaust to feed carbon monoxide into his tunnel system to see if I can suffocate him.

I believe I am in the market for a microphone... All the ~$100 USB ones I can find with good reviews are condensers which apparently pick everything up. Want a dynamic but then I need an XLR to USB adapter plus an XLR cable.

Damn. I don't think I've ever seen a mole but that might be because I let the ground hogs roam wild and free. I think they're pretty territorial so maybe they keep the other vermin away.

The holes they dig under the sidewalk and along the foundation are unsightly but at least they have the common courtesy to dig deep enough that you don't have to worry about mole tracks. Moles are just plain lazy. And they tend to only dig in relatively bare ground. They won't dig up the grass, at least I've never seen them do that.

Woke up this morning, and I have no idea where my glasses are. I suspect shenanigans from the cat is the cause of their disappearance, but I don't know. I need my glasses to find my glasses :^(

I got up 15 minutes ago, shooed the cat away, and am comfortably wearing my glasses.
