Been watching Mad Men on AMC all week long and all the commercials are in SD with letterboxing. The main show is HD though. What makes it worse is they're all American ads that I rarely get to see, so they're somewhat entertaining.

First day of summer semester is my birthday.

Its ok. Couldnt find a cheap enough hooker in my immediate area anyways.
One day will make a trip to Atlantic City or something.

another Sunday of my boyfriend failing the leftover game... eggplant parmesan don't know how many times I've told him that I don't really care for eggplant.

I was able to stand at the sink shaving for 15 minutes this weekend, so I may attempt to start cooking again this week.

on the plus side, I've lost like 20 lbs since my BF was forced to become the primary food-provider.

Been meaning to ask....what did you do to yourself?

fell down a flight of stairs while carrying a heavy box... crushed my knee at the bottom between the box and a step, tearing my quadriceps tendon.

went to the ER right away, where they just diagnosed me with a bruise and told me to take it easy, which I did -- and then proceeded to walk around normally on my torn muscle for about a month when, after a few weeks of it finally starting to feel better, the pain hit me like a ton of bricks out of nowhere.

went to an orthopedic specialist the next day, who did an MRI and found that my muscle was 90% torn and the only fix was surgery... so, while the muscle is repairing and rebuilding post-surgery, my bad leg is in a 100% immobilizer brace so I can't bend my knee at all and the leg is "toe weight bearing" (ie: I can use my toes for balance, but that's all the weight I'm allowed to put on it)

at this point, I'd settle for being able to get into my car and drive... so, so sick of working from home.

Heh. I think part of it is because my wife and kids hate them so much that they give them to me. So it means I get more skittles.

The first couple times I tried them it was like there was something wrong in the universe and that part of my life had been a lie. But then I tried them a few more times and decided they weren't so bad.

I had to listen to some self-righteous person go around saying how great/generous she was for not accepting a gift (cash). Oh wait, she accepted about half of it, but not the full amount because it was too generous. And, behind the giver's back, she talked about how the other person was a show-off and burdensome.
