broke the strap on my smart watch yesterday while digging under my seat trying to find my e-cig. After I broke my watch, I found my e-cig in my pocket :(

you are supposed to run the fan for 30-60 min after a shower to prevent mold growth from the moisture

That may be true...

But it makes no sense to me to do that when the fan could be doing 50 cfm. At 30-60 min, that's 1500 cf to 3000 cf. With ~10' ceilings, that's 300 to 600 sq.ft. or a 10' x 30' floor area.. In my case, that's an entire floor's worth of air that now has to be replaced by freezing cold, outside air since the house is leaky and you can't live in a vacuum. Assuming 0 C exterior air, gas/electricity ($$$$$) must be wasted adding at least 20 C back into the air.

I prefer to just let the warm, winter dry air and the nearby heat vent combined with natural and forced air/ventilation blow dry the room for me and carry the moisture away.

P.S. With the person I was talking about, it has nothing to do with mold. He's just paranoid about his paint job being ruined -- he repainted the bathroom with the proper paint after someone else (not me) painted it with the wrong type -- paint peeled after barely a year from being painted.

Got in to work this morning and the damn power was out.

(I work at Portland State University in the mail room.)

Quite weird to walk in to a dark room when the lights are usually on.

Thankfully,I always have a flashlight in my pants pocket.(HDS Rotary 250 right now.)

Turned it on walked over to my locker, and grabbed my Black Diamond Storm headlight out of my backpack.

Strapped it on,turned it on,and went about sorting mail like nothing happened.

(That was not exactly how I planned to start my workday.Thankfully, the power came back on within 10-15 minutes.)

I finally finished my 1/2 ounce of remaining rum in the 750 ml bottle. Pretty sure a lot of the alcohol evaporated...

Went to Trader Joe's hoping they would have some liquor there but all they had was house brand stuff, so I went home without any liquor. It's too cold to go to a real liquor store.

I want to work on some music. But that would involve me either bringing my computer to the studio, or bringing one of my keyboards to my bedroom (where the computer currently is). :\ I don't want to do either.

just endured the worst hard-sell from my boss trying to get me to stay.

offered to match my new job's salary, let me work remote full-time, and pretty much gave me my choice if there were any aspects of the job I didn't want to do, anything I wanted to focus on, new title, etc.

hopefully this means I'd be welcome back if things go south at the new job, but ultimately, it just kinda feels like it's time to move on.

Only matching the new salary? Screw that.

You should've asked for backpay+interest since he's been underpaying you for months.

sounds like he was 2 steps away from breaking out the knee pads.

+1 on both.

Pisses me off when a company admits that they were screwing you, "Please stay." That should be daily BJs.

well, matching the inflated salary that I told them I was being offered (ie: my real new salary +$10k)

but I could see my company agreeing to that but then my yearly performance raises suddenly becoming like 0.1%/year until it normalizes out anyways... and I figure, once your company knows you're out there looking for new work, you're probably first on the chopping block if budget cuts ever come.

Good for you man. I took a new gig last August and haven't looked back since. My old employer told me I would be welcome back anytime if things head south, but knock on wood... so far so good. Everything about the new job is much better. Like you, they tried like hell to get me to stay but I knew I wanted out. Salary, benefits, retirement.... basically everything was better at the new place and my new boss is very good. He's a lot more sociable and a people person than my last. Plus we have common interests which make things easier... Good luck!

I got a song stuck in my head from a commercial. The words aren't clear, so I keep using "five dollar foot long" in their place.

Meanwhile the $5 footlong is dead. First they were all $5, then there were a few "premium" subs, then there was a spectrum of prices, then they would have a different $5 sub each month, and then they finally threw up their hands and offered us half a sub with chips and a drink for only $6. It's an outrage. :colbert:

Started dating a girl who is 14 years younger than me and it's kind of tiring me out.
