My week of vacation is already almost done and I hardly did what I wanted. Been putting together a trailer kit to build a cargo trailer and was hoping this would take less than a day but I'm on day 2 so far... It's been frustrating due to crap instructions. Should have paid a couple grand more to buy one of the models that was bigger and already made. Once this is done I still need to add custom floor and rails myself, although that will be easier as I'll just design and build it myself. Sometimes it's easier to design and build something than to follow instructions. They had a model that has a floor and rail kit and I'm very happy I didn't get that one. Will be easier to just do my own floor and rails.

Got a bit of will power to finish up the trailer tonight as there was a few extra parts left to finish. Only thing left is the wheels and tighten stuff with the impact that I did not want to do this late at night (loud). I want to bring one of the wheels to Canadian Tire tomorrow to see if they have ones that match the lug nut pattern but bigger diameter, the ones it comes with are kinda small for the places I want to go with it. I pondered on how I want to design the floor and have an idea how I'll do it, so will get the lumber for that as well. That will be a more fun project as it does not involve trying to figure out instructions, just design and build myself. Hopefully I can finish that up by tomorrow then I can move on to other stuff.

Got back from a walk this morning and decided to boil some eggs to throw in a salad I'll be making for my lunch. Got to deshelling the eggs and she shells were sticking to the whites so bad they practically disintegrated. Got like 1/3 left of each egg left now.

That's literally every staycation. Big hopes and then by the end you've done 10% of what you wanted lol.

Yeah seems to be the case. Or end up getting a flu or cold and wasting the whole week being sick. That's what happened to my 3 weeks of vacation early this summer and I'm still behind on all my projects because of it. Sometimes we get an extended summer so it gives me more time but it's not looking like we're getting that this year, it's been nothing but rain. We're getting a break from it today finally though. I've been working on the trailer in the garage anyway but I do have some outdoor projects I need to get done too.

I got to do some of what I wanted in the last three or four days of my vacation. The first 24 or so days were spent lazing and putting off the work for tomorrow because "there's still time".

If you own or maintain a website please quit changing your log on sequence. We need to create an account with a decent password only for it to be blown out into the ether because my password manager's auto-type is now wrong because you changed the order of your log in sequence. I'm looking at you Microsoft and Amazon.

Speaking of annoyances with website logins, I have one site that blocks copy and paste, so it was giving me issues with using a password manager. Managed to find a Firefox extension that can force paste.

Amazon Fresh delivery fees.

Why do they exist?

Ordered 4 8oz blocks of Tillamook cheddar cheese, 2 1-lb cartons of strawberries, and a lb of Amazon store brand baby carrots.

Total came out to (before a $5 tip) $20.89. Then they tacked on a $9.95 service fee.

I just don't understand...

That's basically shipping, right? Fast delivery of perishables requires different logistics than random dry goods. I'd expect some kind of fee above the sticker price. The amount of that fee could be argued though.

edit:
Maybe I misread your post. I don't know how it works. Are you saying there's another fee on top of delivery? That sounds like bullshit, and should be incorporated into product pricing. Trying to get credit for competitive prices that can't honor, so they hide the true cost.

In their quest to deliver the best customer service possible, they woke up a blonde employee to choose the strawberries and baby carrots because only a blonde knows what a blonde wants. It's only right to charge a service fee for ruining someone's beauty sleep. But the blonde got only $3 out of that. Rest were Amazon overhead charges.

I looked at my Amazon account.
For Amazon Fresh.

"
Delivery from Whole Foods Market

Subtotal (1 item): $11.49

Get delivery for $9.95
Get unlimited FREE grocery delivery on orders over $25"

Now you can get free delivery for orders over 25.00
when you subscribe to Amazon Fresh. It's 9.99/mo
or 99.99/yr. It says there's a free 30 day trial.
It's only for subscribers of Amazon Prime.

Just for the heck of it I looked what I would have been charged.

Tillamook cheddar cheese 8 oz - 5.29 ea (X4)
One lb strawberry - 4.49 ea (X2)
One lb baby carrots - 2.23

My total is over 32.00 so I guess the pricing is location dependant. I would have gotten free shipping with an Amazon Fresh Account.

That's pretty much the price of Tillamook unless it's on sale . My Safeway charges that same 5.29/8 oz price. Strawberry prices can vary on the store or sale.

50% higher in California, that's a surprising difference.

You're right. There is (at least for going thru AmazonFresh, with just my Prime account.) a $9.95 delivery fee.

I didn't see that at first.

Forgot Amazon sometimes uses Whole Foods Market for sourcing.

Also, I'm actually a brown-haired guy IRL. Just an old username I never bothered changing.

Also,on a unrelated note.. Any UK guys here want to help me shop for a kilt?

Wearing a catheter( which I'm thankfully getting out on Wednesday..) while wearing normal shorts is a pain in the a$$.

Just saw an ad for Kraken, crypto whatever. The guy was sharing his personal investment story, 20 dollar a month after two years he has over 1000 dollar in his Kraken account. Some return...
