Have a contractor friend here replacing a 2nd story bathroom window. We have vinyl
siding, so it's a PITA to get the old window out without fckng up the vinyl. So far, the drywall around the window has gotten fucked up...andthe wood window sill has some damage. <sigh>

I always wondered how you even replace a window when there's siding, the way they install there are usually flanges, and then the siding gets installed over that. It definitely sounds like it would be a pita and if the installer doesn't care they might not fix up the house wrap either.

I normally work 4 10s with Mondays off, but I need to go in tomorrow. Definitely warranted, and I'm not mad about it, but here at 11pm on Sunday night it's not as appealing as it was on Friday... :p

I was on a ladder about to step into the attic when my phone made a screeching emergency alert noise. Looked at it and it was an alert that an earthquake was detected. Got off the ladder real fast. The earthquake was about 180 miles away so I did not feel anything.

Decided that I hate myself enough to get Taco Bell on the way home, so I go through the drive through. Guy in front of me is freaking out because he keeps saying these long, complicated items with modifications quickly and the girl asks him to repeat himself. Everything is custom. Finally he's done with his $35 order.... and the guy in the back seat has his own $35 order.

Call ahead and be nice to the workers. They don't make enough to listen to you whine about having to speak like a normal person.

Tried installing some games on my new phone, and a couple of my favorites aren't compatible. I hardly ever play games on the phone, but when I do, I like to play those. They're old as shit, and a couple haven't been updated in over ten years. Maybe some time if I get bored and motivated enough, I'll get the source code, and see if I can figure out how to get them to work.
Got my apps installed following these instructions...

So far, they seem to work :^)

Sometimes I get child abduction alerts for El Paso that happened two hours ago...I live in Austin which is 8 hours away.

For a while I was getting them all the freaking time for the GTA. I'm like 8 hours north. One in English, then 10 minutes later, one in French, then an hour later, a cancellation one to say the child was found, in English, then later in French. 4 total, spaced out over a few hours. Always in the middle of the night too.

When I get one I just put my phone in airplane mode and go back to bed. They seem to have slowed down now though, maybe they fixed it so it's at least more regional.

USPS denied the claim I had filed, even though their tracking clearly stated that the package was a day late (used USPS Express).

Now that I think about it, the last few times I have used USPS, everything took much longer to deliver.

A piece of metal that looks like a chunk from a coil over fell out of my truck. No idea where it actually came from, it was just sitting in the driveway, it looks like a coil over but also looks too small of a radius to be a coil over, and from what I can see my coil overs are still there, although I can only see a small part of it without taking the wheel off.

Went to the local lumber yard today to buy the piece of wood I need to replace the damaged window sill...$11.04/ft...had to buy an 8' length...I need 48.5" for the repair. With my celebrity...I mean senior citizen discount, should have been about $86, but since my grandson works there...$61 including tax. Tomorrow I'll cut the piece and get it stained...hopefully it will dry enough to get the polyurethane on it tomorrow as well.

I just noticed that my office Wifi is working at 6 GHz yet the $850+ I paid for my 9950X3D doesn't get me 6 GHz ST boost. The best I can make it go is 5.51 GHz in Win11 and 5.6 GHz in Windows Server 2025 :(

Like, I'm pretty sure that the office Wifi didn't cost $800+ !!!

Decided to work my arms out a bit a couple days ago. Sore AF all day today. Total bullshit.
