In the middle of a YouTube video on my wired TV late yesterday it stopped working. Phone, iPad and X10 system said no internet. Power cycled router and modem. Asked Cox to reset modem. Nada. Router has had problems in the past so ordered a new one via Amazon for overnight 7-11am delivery. Luckily my iPad is also cellular so I was not really cut off. Internet light on router was lit.

This morning fired up PC and it had internet. Checked TV, cell, iPad and X10. All working. I think the router was afraid of being replaced. 😀

New router arrived. Will hang onto it as a reminder to the current one.

The nutrition shop up the street is doing their weight loss/muscle challenge. I decided to join in. They do a full body scan using some fancy machine. Out of all the results the only one I was devastated by the only one I would have never thought. The stupid machine said I'm 5.9'1/2, since I finished growing I've thought I was 5'10 1/2. They assured me the machine was properly calibrated. I know we shrink as we get older, but I just turned 50 so I don't think I'm already losing height. And for whatever reason, when one asks I usually tell females I'm 5'11 LOL.

I've been living a lie my entire adult life!

You live in the right part of the world, tell these folks how rich I’m going to be:

Take hush puppies, soak them in a rum syrup, and sell them in cute little cans like Lyle’s Golden Syrup cans. Call them Lush Puppies! I’m rich already.

Fucking ants reinvaded my kitchen. About a month ago they just disappeared after about a week of blitzkrieg. I figured they were finishing up stocking the pantry, and would be gone til next year. Probably would've, but we just had a week of warm temps and rain, and they came back with a vengeance.

I left a bag of chocolate German muesli on the counter. For some reason, they use a really shitty plastic bag that rips easily. I kind of half assed folded it over and stuck a clip on it, cause the ants are gone, and the cereal will be gone before it gets stale. Well, I forgot it was there, but the damned ants found it, and the bag is full of ants. I have it sitting on a coffee can, and when A bunch try to leave to squirrel away their prize, I flick them off in the sink. That's my project tonight... De anting my cereal, and I guess it'll go in the fridge til the fuckers are gone...

My barber is this and my bathroom mirror. No attachments on the Braun, just straight to the dome piece. Pennies per hair cut. 2-3 times a week.

I've had that problem before and it so happens sometimes with coverage in some parts of the house (after wifi travelled though floors and 3-4 walls) , so I solved that with networking 2 routers in a mesh configuration.

Although that might be considered overkill for some, but I really like that if one router dies/ becomes problematic.. the other will provide redundancy cover.

BTW I don't know why.. but AX routers provide much better stable signals than AC routers or those before it.

Happened last night. I'm not a huge fan of letting our dogs sleep in our bed, especially right up next to our heads. Down by the foot of the bed is generally fine. I couldn't sleep last night, and our little dog crept up to the head and cuddled up with the wife. Ok, I'll just turn over opposite side. In about 5 minutes, the freakin dog started snoring. I've heard her snore before, but not like this. It was human level snoring, and between the wife and the dog, it was like a chorus of sawing logs. Not sure what time I finally fell asleep but woke up this morning tired.

I bought a meat grinder attachment for my kitchenaid mixer. Used it to grind up a bunch of roasts into ground beef. Turns out some liquid from the grinding leaked down the shaft of the grinder and into the mixer housing. Didnt notice this till the smell started.
My mixer and by extention my kitchen now smells like death. Ive been pouring water into the housing and trying to flush the nasty out of the mixer for days. The bottom of the gear area isnt easily removable and there is a cup shaped area for the nasty to hang out.
Not sure if im missing an o ring somewhere or what, but ive seen a few claims of this happening to others. Not sure if i just return the attachment and get a dedicated grinder now.

I bought the grinder attachment about thirty years ago but never used it. I think I can let it go now.

If i had to guess, you are probably safe. This looks like a newer mixer plus newer grinder problem. My inlaws have been grinding venison for years and never had this issue.

I used a kitchen aid and grinder attachment here and there like twenty years ago and never had an issue, and had never heard of it either back then.

I've been waiting weeks for 3 separate orders from Home Depot, for some reason they're coming from the states so it's been a long trek to get here. Got the notice that the orders are available for pickup, so I go, and they told me to come back tomorrow, because they're in the back and the workers that work in the back are done for the day. The box is literally sitting in the building that I'm standing in, yet I have to go back tomorrow to get it. I get it, the guy is not going to leave the front desk to go check the back, but it is annoying that they tell me it's ready for pickup when it's actually not. Surely they could have sent another worker to go look for it. I'll wait.

I ended up leaving there after buying $100 worth of stuff so guess the trip was not wasted. Hardware stores will do that.

Found a pack of Beyond Meat chicken-like nuggets in a box. I bought them Thursday, but they didn't make it to the freezer. Pisses me off. I briefly considered using them, but thought better of it. Maybe it were the middle of winter and the house was much cooler, but I don't need food poisoning to save $5.
