What excuse does Redbox have for sucking now?

I talked up redbox hard not long ago but it seems these days--say the last 2-3 months--that there is jack squat on there to rent. Their "new releases" are terrible. They get a pitiful number of new releases and generally tier 2 or infiniti at that. I've noticed that their new releases are often now extremely old movies that recently came to DVD. Case in point inglorious bastards, the 1981 edition, is now on there, and obvious and desperate attempt to gain relevance with the new movie release.

So sad, I really loved redbox.

I got fed up with Red Box after I had to wait behind 7 hillbillys at Walmart to pick out one DVD so I could return mine. After 15 minutes I gave up and haven't been back since.

Yeah I really wish they had a separate slot you could just walk by and return DVDs. (One with a much faster motor to suck in DVDs)

Usually when this happens I return them at a less used location or ask the people infront of me if they'd just let me return one. Nice people normally let you go ahead.

Redbox gives me free movie rentals with coupon codes in text messages. (Use your cell phone number when they ask for a number, they don't spam.)

Fox and Universal can suck it. Fucking movie industry.

Thanks for the link. I always wondered how RedBox got away with renting movies for dirt cheap. I knew there was no way the studios were going along with it, and turns out they aren't.

I stopped at the Redbox tonight while we were at the grocery store...the selection SUCKS! The lady in front of me was bitching about it and commented to me about how poor it was. I 'splained to her what was going on, and she continued to bitch about the selection. Apparently, it just went over her head. :roll:

I used to like Netflix. The convenience was great...but once they started throttling me so that I couldn't get more than 3 turn-arounds in a month, the value just wasn't there. (at first, I could get an easy 6 and sometimes 7 turn-arounds per month.

I have the el cheapo netflix membership, which we use for streaming. Still it's nice ot have redbox because netflix streaming mostly has only old stuff.
