My handle comes from a quote from Vice Admiral William H. P. Blandy while attempting to assuage public fears about the atomic bomb during the early days of testing:

The bomb will not start a chain-reaction in the water converting it all to gas and letting all the ships on all the oceans drop down to the bottom. It will not blow out the bottom of the sea and let all the water run down the hole. It will not destroy gravity. I am not an atomic playboy, as one of my critics labeled me, exploding these bombs to satisfy my personal whim.
I found the phrase humorous. Still do. Although I am confused as to why the hell anyone would ever deny being an atomic playboy. That's the most awesome thing a critic could call you.

When I first started gaming my friends and I all picked names for our handles. Shiviano, Alkali, Drathmar, Eclipse, etc and so I just go "Virus". Then I joined the clan my step dad was in [BD], which was a TFC clan primarily. Played with them for a bit throughout highschool.

When I signed up here, for some reason I couldn't do [BD] Virus like I usually did. So, since [BD] was the tag for The Brothers Disgruntled I just go "DisgruntledVirus works" and registered it.

Edit: Ironically enough, now I go by DisgruntledVirus more than [BD] Virus or Virus. Although in games I still usually just go by Virus since [BD] kind of disbanded (or just fell apart) when all the "old school" guys stopped playing. 🙁

Back when I played the game Tribes, you could make your own character and customize the voice.

I wanted to make a small girl with big boobs, then give her a gritty cigar chomping man's voice and name her Fritz.

Fritz was already taken, so I used Fritzo.

And here I am.

The main character from my second-favourite novel London Fields from my favourite author Martin Amis. That character is essentially the exact opposite of how I am in real life.

That looks like an awesome book; I'll have to put it on my list.

I always figured the "Talent" in your name was a reference to Billy Talent from Hard Core Logo, and that Keith was a middle name or nickname. Huh.

Edit: Whoops, I realized that Billy Talent has 2 "l"s (the band has one "l"). I'm going to shut up now. 😱

I may have an extra copy of the book kicking around, though there is a chance I gave it to my ex. If I have it, I'll bring it for you on Saturday (no need to return it, I'm a 'pay it forward' kind of guy when it comes to books).

Short form of "Impalir", which was my Diablo II character/avatar name. Was going for Impaler, but some jackass already took it. Lazy people called me 'Imp', I didn't mind it, so here we are.

Cool. I don't know if I have any good books to trade you, but I can get you a beer or something.
