Just started the E-Cig recently haven't been smoking, taking this desk apart nest weekend and cleaning everything.

At least a little WD-40 improved the keyboard a bit from smoking over it years, might still get another.

WD-40 = Liquid Duct Tape :)

I just started using my model M after a couple years of using a cheap bubble switch keyboard. Holy hell, what a difference! I forgot how much I like these things. It's actually pleasant to use, and I know if I hit a key, it'll work. The one I'm using now still has the price from the thrift shop on it; $2.92, and I may have even gotten it cheaper than that. There aren't many things in the world where you can have the best for less than $5.

I've gotten too used to the ergo's over the years, I still hate using a straight one at work myself.

Just a personal thing.

:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks for the tip though.

These things still the cheapest big fingered Ergo out there I think for around 40 bucks.

Still might just get another, this one is at least number 3 I think.

I just like em.

I have a copy of the hd my first IBM compatible computer(486DX50) came with. In fact, I've been poking through it lately trying to find my old HP48 software, and trying to remember how to use it. I want to run the software in an emulator on Android.

While more power to you, I love everything about your screenshots except the fonts. Every time I see them.

Really? Which one don't you like, or is it both of them? My titlebar is Macondo swash caps italic, and my main font is Linux Biolinum bold. Conky is Ubuntu.

I like fonts outside the mainstream. I get tired of regular serif and sans fonts, and try to mix it up a bit. The ones I'm using now are pretty tame compared to some I've used in the past. It is time for a change though. I'm gonna switch my system font back to Averia. I like that font aside from the lower case "m". That bothers me a bit.

Here's mine, I try to keep it clean.
"Stuff" is where all the junk that I'd normally leave on the desktop goes. :p Actual long term/important storage is on my file server and accessed via NFS.

I took that pic recently when I drove by the river and noticed how calm it was. Was very early in the morning after night shift. Was warm already so no fog. I'll have to get some pics when there's fog. I'd have to go earlier though, like 4-5am.

Nice you use Linux at work? We're still stuck on XP. :p I guess it beats 8 lol.

I haven't fully tested it yet, but the primary program I use works in Wine. It just interfaces with a HP48 calculator, so when I get some free time, I'll try to roll my own program/script. I was using XP, but Explorer took a shit on me. I got into work one day, and the computer had restarted after power went out. Explorer was laggy on the local drive, and unbearable on the network. I tried a couple Explorer replacements, which worked ok, but I've wanted to use GNU/Linux for awhile anyway, so I put the hd from my laptop in the computer, and it works fine. I'm currently waiting on a SSD for my laptop, so I'm the big winner. My laptop's gonna be faster, and my work machine's better :^)

This is a rare sight, a desktop devoid of active windows for me...

Every launcher tile/icon is put away on the Start screen forefront.

And you all can go ahead and point and laugh. I don't mind, it is actually a good show for all ages.
