Useless, futile gestures are exactly that... useless and futile.

He was hauled off and executed and he changed absolutely nothing.

Well the first thing that comes to mind is that that is one dead mofo right there.

When you think about it for a moment, then you start wondering what made that man so desperate to do what he did.

I think you're irrational. You should fight for what you believe in - uncalled for to call him a mofo

He changed the world and, even more important, he gave a meaning to his life.

Honestly, it means nothing to me.

I pity you.

no need to feel sorry for me, I'm ok with it.

No no no, you misunderstand. I don't feel sorry for you, I pity you. Significant difference.

I know you pity me, but define pity then?

Here, I'll quote the freedictionary so you won't have to
pit·y
n. pl. pit·ies
1. Sympathy and sorrow aroused by the misfortune or suffering of another.
2. A matter of regret: It's a pity she can't attend the reception.
v. pit·ied, pit·y·ing, pit·ies
v.tr.
To feel pity for.
v.intr.
To feel pity.
Idiom:
have/take pity on
To show compassion for.

I don't know but I take that as you feel sorry for me. and once again, don't, I'm okay with myself. :p

A person carrying Grocery asking for a lift as hes getting late.

Better to get overrun by a tank anyways than to reach home late to a waiting wife ;)

I think about the soldiers in the tank. No matter how sinister their orders are they are reluctant to take another person's life.

Of course, the events of that day did end in lots of spilled blood, but not in this case.
