it means that guy in front of 4 tanks coming at him is a fucking idiot.

it means you have no idea what it means to stand for something greater than yourself.

it apparently also means your sarcasm and joke meters are broken. it may also mean that you have no sense of humor.

Putting your life on the line for what you believe in.

just a branching question from that statement...

is it worth to put your life on the line for what you believe in if it wouldn't do any good?

say there wasn't any camera around or even any other people around in that pic above and they just ran him over. would it have made a difference?

Yes. To him it would, and indirectly so to those that would've killed him it would

well obviously getting squashed by a tank is a big difference than not being squashed, but why waste your life if won't do any good? i'm sure if you lived, you could find better ways to protest and get more people involved. that might help more than committing suicide.

3 tickets for not using a blinker
3 tickets for crossing over the yellow line
1 ticket for jay walking

From the angle of the photo, I seriously doubt he knew he was being photographed at the time...

No, he's amazing. You have no idea what a "hero" is, and you probably have no real gauge of what integrity is.

I describe this as "amazing."

Don't you know there is video too. Pretty amazing. When the tank would turn he would move in its way and eventually jump onto the tank.

I remember this event as it unfolded live on TV in China, and it's incredibly sad, disgusting, and disheartening to see people trivialize and belittle it here.

I just read the whole thread and save but one or two jokesters no one else "trivialized or belittled" the guy.
So spare us your drama.

You might want to read the whole thread to see what my initial thoughts were. The post you replied to was just something to shut pontifex up - something that is clearly impossible within the confines of ATOT.
