Yea your right Nesu. The iso is called memtest and it has the winrar icon. And DopeFiend it failed using default bios but when I upped the DDR voltage to 2.7 It did fine, although I didn't test it extensively.

It's still running hot enough to fail. Do you want your system to crash during a huge operation of some kind?

Set clock to DEFAULT speed and try again. If you can run Prime95 without crashing at default, creep your way up. If you can't do it at default, you screwed up on basic cooling somewhere.

Well over night I ran memtest 86 on standard and had no errors until I turned it off after 6 hours and 38 minutes. So I assume it's safe to say that there is no problem with my memory? I set the HTT mhz back to normal (200 from 215) and am running Prime95 all day. Wish me luck :)

Make sure to set Memtest to run all tests.
By default it won't run the long test, unless they changed that in 3.1.

I had a bad stick of Crucial PC2100, with the default tests it could run on and on, with all tests, a single run would yield over 50.000 errors.

update: this time Prime95 ran for 10.5 errors and then failed. The failure occured a few minutes after I started using the pc for the first time since the test was started. Coincidence?

Edit for note: The PC runs at around 46-47 degrees celsius while running prime 95 and 38 degrees celsius while idle. This look normal?

Edit #2: How do you activate blended mode torture test and what is it?

Temps are fine.

If you're comfortable with it not being perfectly prime stable, then fine. It's worth it to some people, not worth it to others. Personally, I wouldn't do it, but that's just me. Just whatever you do, don't do Folding or anything like that, or you run the risk of submitting invalid results.

well I now know that it is definitely not my memory. I ran memtest86 for a good 36 hours with no errors and it was set to run all tests. Now, when I run Prime95 at stock settings I fail after 48 minutes, and upping the DDR voltage to 2.7 really doesn't do anything...fails just as quickly. What the hell is wrong?

Are you using a copper shim on your CPU? I found it did more harm than good and got better CPU cooling without it..... just don't crush your core!
